A companion card to Infinia

navam

TF Premier
So the background is I end up hitting/crossing the 15k accelerated points on my Infinia every 2-3 months and I feel like the 3.3% return on other spends could be better.
I was using magnus primarily pre Deval and now it's just there for meet and greet. Using Infinia as primary now.

So, now I'm looking for a card which I can use for
1. Replacing my 3.3% return spends on Infinia, regular spending
2. Booking hotels and flights when I hit the 15k limit on Infinia with decent returns.

Based on everything I've read, it seems like the best companion/supplement card to Infinia would be Axis Atlas.
But as always I'm very hesitant to get another axis (also not sure if I'm eligible for a 2nd one and their sales folks just say/do whatever to get you to submit the application and that makes me very angry lol)

So is there anything else out there if not I'll just bite the bullet and trust axis once more....... Even typing that hurts haha 😂

If you hold the Magnus, use that for your travel spends. It will yield 12% up to 2L even after deval. Your normal spends(3.3%) can stay on your Infinia.

I also have Infinia, looking for another card to complement it - got Indusind BA Avios but I didn't get any rewards for tax payment. Trying to get IDFC - I tried to get wealth but been offered select credit card, waiting for verification.

You can get the Amex Plat travel for an additional 4L spends every year.

That will get you ~40K points and work as a great secondary card after your Infinia limit is used up.
My only issue with amex is the travel partners are limited and the transfer ratios are meh for everyone but marriot.

Based on my experience with mrcc*

So that's what I started doing but last month i realised I was doing substantial expenditure in the 3.3% category and was wondering how to optimize it.

3.3% is still one of the best in the industry. How substantial is your regular spends if you don’t mind me asking?
Did about 2.5lk last month and mostly pos....
For atlas, just call to customer support and they will instantly issue card for you
Wah I wasn't aware it's that simple thanks for sharing, I am actively trying to avoid it but if it's simple might change my mind lol. Although every card I add messes with my avg account age and messes with the cibil ... Not sure why but I seem to care about that!

Atlas give 4% miles for basic spends, so its simple to go, and cibil, I never checked before found so much hype here, I have almost 24-25 cards, few PLs, but its always near to 780 even if its 4-5 new enquiries

Then get some milestone based cards. Amex Plat travel is the most sought after. Or you could get the vistara co-branded cards, but finding award space has become difficult.

If you have these many spends, have you considered upgrading to Magnus Burgundy? It will double your reward rates on Magnus and Atlas wont be needed

The points you earn with MRCC are limited as you've more points, you can use them for international flights, Taj vouchers or Mariott. These would give you the best return ratio, there are other options but the percentage would reduce quite a bit.

I really don't want to use axis as a banking partner, moving the money is not an issue but .. the best way to explain the feeling I have for axis is how you feel when you look at stupid teenagers doing random shit and you ignore and move on instead of getting involved cause kaun jhelega inke tantrums....
Aka Mann ki shaanti chahiye .. 300 pages on technofino discussions nahi 😉

Infinia + Amex Plat Travel + MRCC have been my goto since the past 4 years ! This is the best combination.
Recently got my Wife the DCB (LTF), which i use if needed to get vouchers (Amazon) or if i have exhausted the 15K limit.
I have the Citi IndianOil for Fuel.

Can go with Ultimate card from Standard Chartered. It used to be called as No-Nonsense card before recent devaluation across some categories, but still better than many in terms of Exclusion categories.

Ok slightly off topic but since you have been using amex for last 4 years, what the heck do you do with MR points? I feel like the redemption value is really crappy compared to other reward points since the partners transfer ratios aren't great. Like either you get the gold collection something vouchers or transfer to marriot which is also very hard to get >1rs value per point. Asking cause I feel like I'm doing something wrong with my amex haha.

I had transferred bulk of Amex points last year when 30% transfer bonus came for Bonvoy.
Either stay 5 nights in Marriott with 1 night free with redemption or stay where you get a good value. You can search many hotels which give you a good value.
If not 1INR/per point even 80-90p is not bad.
I recently redeemed Bonvoy points with >1INR/MB point in my recent trip to Turkey.
You need to search and time well where you will be going.
