I ahve a Limit 8.4L and completed spends of 9 Lakhs in past 6months. I have asked a hdfc bank manager about upgrade to infina. they said me the minimum limit required is 10 Lakhs for an upgrade. Is there any way to get the upgrade possible. give me your suggestions please

Hi

Current card: DCB, CL: 7.2L, last 6 months spends: 10L, net salary credit: above 3.0 L

All my previous attempts to secure Infinia have failed, I raised request to grievance email for upgrade, and they asked to share payslips with below response

I shared my payslips and i'm yet to receive any response, its been more than a week since I shared my payslips.

Is there any positive chance for me get upgrade?

Thanks
Varun

I have feeling that folks should start following two step process. At 3 months (in your 6 months upgrade journey), ask for a CL enhancement. With 3.3 L salary, one can get 10L CL. Mention that you expect a big ticket purchase or a foreign trip, even if you don't have that planned. At 6 months, ask for Infinia upgrade. You will already have CL. It may get slightly easier. Not sure if anyone tried this.

Also, I believe, they have reached target number of Infinia holders and doesn't want to give anymore, earlier we have seen cases where people got Infinia card even without meeting spends, CL, salary. Any other reasons for making Infinia so much difficult to get now a days?

1 lakh IT employees lost job in India only in 2025...The true impact of USA tariff on India will be visible in 2026

Yeah this is all because of 8th pay commission hikes in salary.
I disagree on this.
8th pay commission hike will take place after 2 years. Means just before any major election likely in 2028.

Since infinia has been issued to many , hdfc is not planning to launch any card better than infinia and infinia still is in demand hence they are increasing their criteria.
Diner black is a good card with similar reward rate and less eligibility criteria . People should aim first if they are not getting infinia.

If you don't know they also increased eligibility of dcbm recently to 2.5 lakhs/month from 1.75 lakhs/month.

Also as the condition of debt going in country through credit card and private companies layoff are going on the bank need valuable person those don't have any loans etc.

I think it's the way hdfc is not devaluing Infinia but rather making it difficult for access. They truly might not be coming up with a better card but maintaining the true meaning of it's super premium cards like Infinia and also dcbm and not giving it without the proper criteria fulfilled. But in a way I think it's a nice way, not like axis or any other bank which gives the card to all and then devalue heavily.
