Accor Plus - Status night and Voucher

What is the trick to get the breakfast for free at Swissotel next to Fairmont?

thats awesome! you have cleared almost all the doubts that we all had related to this..
There is a dedicated person at the entry to the restaurant who asks for room number when entering the restaurant. They check that with a list they have and then allow. If not, they will create a bill and ask you to sign after breakfast before you leave the restaurant.
I got the breakfast with free room in Swissotel...even though it was mentioned no available in the booking. It is not hard and fast rule, some hotels will give you happily.

My Swissotel booking shows breakfast for 1224 so do I get 50% off on this as a Gold Plus Explorer member?
and then I can use Accor points for the 612 payment ?

Is it possible to combine stay plus and reward points in single booking?

I am trying to book for 3 nights and 2nd night is most costly, so want to use stay plus for second night and reward points for first and third night. But it is not allowing to use reward points when I enable stay plus.

I can do 3 separate bookings, but then also I will not be able to apply 2000 reward points as individual prices won't be multiple of 40 euro.

Is there any other way? I tried app, website and call. Nothing worked.

In the past, I was able to book stay plus and points booking in the same reservation. I booked 5 nights and the night with the highest cost was made free with stay plus. For the remaining 4 nights, I paid using points (at check in).

I'm not aware of any recent changes though.

Yeah, Burning at check in is one option. But I like to avoid these for any last minute hiccups 😔.

That's true. In one of the hotels, the check in executive couldn't apply points and told me to pay via cash/card. I had to ask the manager to step in and he spoke with accor customer care to redeem my points.

Since then, I always burn points when reserving

You are wrong, it works in Ibis when you stay, because in Ibis in India, we get 50% discount on all meals, we bill it to the room and pay on check out using points
No, what I said was correct. You took it out of context.

To be clear, if you book the breakfast when you book your rooms, you do NOT get the accor plus discount.

If you bill to room when staying and pay during check out, you can burn points.

I have personally experienced this in multiple accor stays. Actually, the staff of one of the accor hotel where I was staying told me about this.

I am saying exactly the same thing.
Book room ONLY at the lowest price and pay with full points. Don't book room with breakfast.

Then at the hotel, get 50% discount on breakfast, lunch and dinner for two adults in the same Hotel if you are a plus member.
Note that the discount will be less if you are 1 adult or 3 adults or more.
Also know that the prices, (especially buffet prices) are proportionately inflated to cover the loss due to the 50% discount.
However food, drinks and service are all excellent!

Bill it your room and then pay with points when you check out, so that you get a double benefit!

What if there are 2 adults and 1 kid (4 year old). Will it be 50% or less?

It will be 50%. It has always been the case for me in all accor properties I have visited (only international, none domestic). They take only adults into account for calculating the discount rate.

For buffet, they charge a child fee (usually 50% of buffet cost, age criteria depends on hotel) and then give you 50% on the total bill (adults + child costs)

Hotels in Thailand will give you 50% as they consider only adults while calculating discount.

Dubai Accor will only give 25% flat for Gold status irrespective of number of people.

Some Indian hotels (not all) consider children more than 5 in adult category and give 33% discount

I recommend not to eat in the hotel if the discount is 33% or less, regardless of the number of people.
it would be cheaper outside, even after considering the 33% discount and pay with points benefit.
However 50% discount and pay with points is a very good deal.
