Same issue happened with me also on the same day! For my case, it was SBI Cashback CC and I've used Kotak Bank DC on Airtel Thanks app. Let's see when the Refund comes...
Please keep posted in here so that both of us the status of each other. Tweeted on Twitter but no help. There is no option to call customer care or send them an email.

Same here, I received the refund as well. A lesson to learn: either avoid using the Airtel app for utility payments or make a small transaction first to see if it succeeds before making a larger payment.

Exactly... I think it's better to use SBI Unipay or Canara Setu to get some CB or RP for CC bill payment... But it is heard that there are also some multiple Failures occurred, specially on SBI gateway... Although I don't know more about Canara Setu...

I had another bill of 20k for another card that I just tried rn. I went for it knowing that if it fails, I'll get the refund, and this time the transaction was completed without any problems in the Airtel app.

For my case, all the other CC bill payment transactions were successful other than SBI card and also the debited amount Refunded back within next 3 days...
Email to 121. Don’t bother with Airtel payments bank, they will deny any help. Even going to Airtel store is useless, I went to port sim the other day, the guy was handling a failed cc payment user, as per this forum, it will take 5-7 days for refund if payment failed.
Hi, My electricity bill payment done on airtel thanks app via airtel axis card is pending for a week now. Its status is processing.
Unable to reach airtel customer care or raise complaint in the app.
Any mail id or cc number where i can check this ? anybody faced similar issue ?
