No but you can conversion to Moneyback+ RuPay credit card.

last week, one person told me, he got pre-approved Business MoneyBack Visa credit card.

Since, Business MoneyBack is not available on RuPay. So, he ask for Moneyback+ RuPay.

HDFC bank agree but he got Moneyback+ Visa then again he request for Moneyback+ RuPay and got the card.

How will this transaction be processed through Rupay.

What about the conversion rates and currency markup charges??

I don't have much knowledge about how international transactions work, some please explain!!
Okay so how this works is like this:

RuPay is an only Indian Payment processor like Mir in Russia. International transactions are taken care by Discover (in most cards) and new cards some have JCB. When swiped through PoS it shows as "Discover" or "JCB" instead of RuPay.

Markup charges are only for international transactions. Suppose you are doing to Qatari Rial. So first you need to pay Markup Charge of certain percentage + GST + Conversion charges and so..
This is according to the money in the market.

Travel or Forex cards are prepaid cards in which money is already loaded so, you can buy money at a lower exchange rate and or you don't need it pay conversion charges.

Here it shows RuPay only because it is the people associate the logo in their front of the card. It means any RuPay "International" card is supported let it be Discover or JCB.

Anyways to make the transaction happen:
-You must have an RuPay International Card
-You Must have sufficient balance in account
-You must have turned on International transaction
-You must pay the charges that apply

Thanks in advance🙂

You are giving 101% wrong info.

This transaction work on RuPay's Global network (no linked with Discover or JCB).

You can use any RuPay card, including those RuPay cards written "valid only in India", also work on Dubai mall, UAE.

Now how its work ?

UAE's central bank/or some UAE's local banks already opened bank account in India, for example - SBI bank in India.

Now when we use our RuPay card on any International merchant through RuPay's Global network.

RuPay card deposit INR currency to UAE's central bank/UAE's local banks in their SBI Bank account and UAE's central bank/UAE's local banks deposit same amount of Dirham (UAE currency) to UAE merchants.

Since, This is directly trade between INR to dirham. No Markup Charge or any stupid type of Conversion charges envolve.

RuPay card partner with UAE's Mercury card network, Network International to power RuPay acceptance in the UAE -
https://www.npci.org.in/PDF/npci/pr...onal-to-power-RuPay-acceptance-in-the-UAE.pdf

UAE's Mercury card network, Network International and all other future partner banks integrate all RuPay card BIN numbers on UAE merchants POS machine, E-com websites etc.

Year 2019, RuPay announced around 175,000 merchant locations of 21 businesses will start accepting RuPay Cards. Moreover, 5,000 ATMs in the UAE will soon start accepting payments from India’s RuPay card.

Also UAE banks like Emirates NBD, Abu Dhabi Bank, and Bank Of Baroda (UAE branch) will also start issuing RuPay Cards in UAE.

@Sreerag Hope you understand, How RuPay Global network works on Internationally, Discover and JCB is temporary partner, once RuPay network expand to all countries. RuPay card will discontinued all Discover and JCB variant cards. Same way China's Unionpay card was co-branded with visa and mastercard till 2016. Year 2016, china's UnionPay card announced Unionpay card now accept all countries across the globe. So, UnionPay was discontinued all cobranded visa and mastercards.
