NPCI is planning to launch RuPay credit cards with all credit card issuing banks in the next few years. NPCI currently focusing to get the banks ready, enabled and certified.

You should know RuPay has 3 variants of credit cards -

1) RuPay Classic (Standard/Basic card) - equivalent to Visa/mastercard classic.

2) RuPay Platinum (Premium card) - equivalent to Visa/mastercard Platinum

3) RuPay Select (Super Premium card) - equivalent to Visa Signature and mastercard World.

Now Before start one last and important thing, you guys should know. Banks never discrimination between Visa/mastercard vs RuPay. What does it mean ?

This means that if your Visa credit card is life time free then the same variant RuPay credit card will also be life time free or if you change your existing life time free Visa card to RuPay then your new RuPay variant card comes by default life time free.

2nd thing, Any offers given by banks are also applicable on your RuPay credit cards too like Axis, HDFC, ICICI, SBI CARD, BOB etc 10% discount offers on Amazon and Flipkart or other e-commerce websites (Ofcourse sometimes newly launch RuPay card is not eligible for e-commerce discount offers but that doesn't mean banks discrimination between Visa/mastercard vs RuPay. It simply meaning your card is new, bank systems are not updated, wait for few months or complaint to banks they will soon fix it. In fact, newly launch Yes bank Visa & RuPay both credit cards and few months back one person told Axis Magnus Visa Credit card is not working on e-com discount offers). So i hope it's clear. All bank offers are eligible on RuPay credit cards too.

RuPay is an only Indian Payment processor like Mir in Russia. International transactions are taken care by Discover (in most cards) and new cards some have JCB. When swiped through PoS it shows as "Discover" or "JCB" instead of RuPay.

Markup charges are only for international transactions. Suppose you are doing to Qatari Rial. So first you need to pay Markup Charge of certain percentage + GST + Conversion charges and so..
This is according to the money in the market.

Travel or Forex cards are prepaid cards in which money is already loaded so, you can buy money at a lower exchange rate and or you don't need it pay conversion charges.

Here it shows RuPay only because it is the people associate the logo in their front of the card. It means any RuPay "International" card is supported let it be Discover or JCB.

Anyways to make the transaction happen:
-You must have an RuPay International Card
-You Must have sufficient balance in account
-You must have turned on International transaction
-You must pay the charges that apply

@Sreerag Hope you understand, How RuPay Global network works on Internationally, Discover and JCB is temporary partner, once RuPay network expand to all countries. RuPay card will discontinued all Discover and JCB variant cards. Same way China's Unionpay card was co-branded with visa and mastercard till 2016. Year 2016, china's UnionPay card announced Unionpay card now accept all countries across the globe. So, UnionPay was discontinued all cobranded visa and mastercards.
