Alleged latest Amex new devaluations, please confirm if true-
1) Amex Reserve cc free golf needs 50k spend.
2) No more free MRCC or Plat Travel cc with Amex Reserve cc
3) Gold charge cc limit reduced to 50000 for some new applications
4) Many Amex customers are not getting automatic limit enhancement, which used to be the case in the past.

But not to worry, all these are insignificant for most existing American express users and don't affect their 3 main/best cards --

50k limit for gold is fine as most people use it for 6k milestone only 😅

1) Total ITR when applied for Gold GC?
2) CIBIL score
3)any other Amex cards with limits and age?
4)What is the total of all his/her Credit card limits inclding any PLs when compared to total Income? ( ie. leverage)

So it's true, from Dec 2024 only 50000 limit on Gold charge card!
Maybe they expect people will use Gold charge card only to buy 1000 x 6 Amazon pay on Amex Gyftr 5x, and collect 1000+600 points every month.
But they have been continuously discouraging this by keeping only 250 Amazon pay vouchers on amex Gyftr

In fact, GC is actually a decent card introducing us to Charge systems with Amex. I always hope some day GC will shine, Amex has revamped Platinum Reserve, they should even consider GC upgrades with lifestyle benefits and metal form factor. I am sure it will attract the crowd too.

If you are new to gold charge your first few months it will start with 50K

Not sure about this. I got my Gold card about 3 months ago and it immediately allowed 20 lakhs as the spend limit. It declined 25 and I didn’t bother to check in increments. My other Amex card is Pl Travel and it is about 9 months old. No LE on it so far. Stuck at 9.49 lakhs.

On your Platinum Travel , you may get auto LE in the 13th month.. I got like that..

When compared to all other offerings in Amex, there is NO REAL USE CASE for amex reserve card for vast majority of users..
It is just an utterly waste card.. I don't know why they are offering this card..
Good choice to close this card..

Note: Recently , they have added some more perks for this card... I believe, still it is a waste card.

I took this card only for golf,a long time back they were offering 4 golf games per month without spend criteria,later they decreased it to 2 golf games per month without spend criteria.Now they completly devalued it placing the spend criteria on the golf games.My friends are also canceling this card,because of this.The new benefits like,2 complimentary priority pass visits,Accor plus membership aren't that beneficial for 10 k fee,in my opinion.Golf games are costly,so all the banks are giving golf games with spend criteria,except HDFC with DCB and Infinia.I don't know how they are doing that,I am surprised it lasted on Infinia until now,without the spend criteria.

Are all these categories allowed to hit the 4 lakh milestone & get 40000 points?

yes. No base points for insurance, utilities, fuel
Base points for government, taxes, wallet load and rent

3)any other Amex cards with limits and age? hold MRCC with 5Lakh Limit member since 2019
4) Am not sure on income for sure he will be earning good

Yes he had call with CC they said to use card and limit gets reset once we pay full amount
