American Express (AmEx) Pauses All New Card Applications 🚨🚨

Seems like AmEx wants to pause and look back into what they've been doing.
They're pausing all new applications for the time being, probably for the next few months under the reason 'strategic business transformations'.



This does not affect current users but only the new applications.

They've been getting dragged for a decline in their quality of customer support, lack of new offers and the overall card value going down.
Do you think they will introspect all of it and come back even better and stronger?

Not sure what the above message means ....

However one of our forum member said an amex employee recently informed him that there is a temporary pause in accpeting the applications for platinum charge card from amex India for about 6 months...

anyone heard this??

So for now direct applications (Apply Now) is disabled, but Apply now from Referral link is enabled. Anyways as per Customer care executives they are not processing any applications.

This actually sounds more like Amex must be on some big thing... They might even exit India, or sell part of business to someone else / merge with someone... etc .etc.....
In my view , there is some big thing coming up soon...it could be anything... but definitely not a minor change... get ready for the big decision ...

Wouldn't make sense to open a new office in Gurugram just to exit the country, I think some internal operations are getting rehauled.

They are processing ongoing applications. Only applications made after 5th March will be not processed.

My application is pending with them since Jan. Their executives have all been saying different things and the application is still open. Their service quality has really gone down.

i talked to an Amex Ggn employee today. he mentioned a freeze going on in some departments. although he added "ye hote rhta hai"
