American Express Platinum Charge Card Upgrade Offer 1,35,000 RP

Just got offer on app and email from Amex to upgrade my Amex Platinum Travel card to Amex Platinum Charge card. Is it worth upgrading with 1,35,000 RP being offered.

take it.. use it.. transfer to marriott end of yr when bonus offer comes.. your return will be 2x if used well only on the 135k..

135 RP would be credited in 120 days post 50k spending. Marriot bonus offer may not be in force that time

Received 1lakh Mr points 3 days back yet to recieve 20k referral bonus care said will credit after 60 days. But their advert says spend 5k within 60 days and get referral bonus. Any ways I used the offer of 10x booking on airindia from Delhi to chennai 7k and chennai to bangalore 807 inr I was shocked then tried booking was getting error after wards booked for 1300 inr in that I got 400 inr discount. At chennai staying at Taj Club haus. Paid by points 8k plus 2k as I choose higher room .

Applied July 13th and approved 15th they say when I called up. Yet to receive 20k refferal.bonus they said wait till 15th Oct if not received to call.

only the first year offer of 135K will allow one to recover the fees of 72K. with no guaranteed renewal offer it may not make sense for the 2nd year. that too with increased fees of 78K. honestly from a credit card perspective 78K would make sense only if one were able to derive 3-4L of benefit without having to lead the life style of a millionaire.

I am also getting same offer, i have Platuium travel + Magus+ Reglia Gold mainly, i do take 1-2 international trip a year,

Should i go for 1st year and Then cancel from next year ?

No point in going for 1st year. This card is lux card and u get tier upgrades without staying as long as you hold the card . Plus they offer 50% off on oberoi suites I believe this u need to call concierge to book. Plus you get Epicure plus with discount coupons.
It has its own benefit u can always cancel after a year once u get u r 130k MR but this will have a condition 50k spend in 60 days and 5k spend within 90 days and credit of MR will happen after the fulfillment date. ON THIS CARD A STANDARD 25% DISCOUNT IN Taj hotels if u book through concierge. Golf if u play unlimited lounge visits. Dining benefits with a bottle of wine in Taj plus.

See if it suits your spend it is charge not a credit card. Best card for travel is plat travel u get 40k MR plus 10k Taj voucher on completing 4lakhs in a year. But if u want hotel tier benefits gold tier the plat charge is better as you can reach faster the next tier.
