Amex Application help

Hi guys! I applied for an Amex Platinum travel card on 21st of October. I already have a mrcc for about 2 months now. The vkyc was auto completed. But I keep receiving this email saying that they will reach out to me soon everyday but no one reaches out. It's been over a week now. On contacting customer support they say the application is in progress and they ask me to wait. ( My First MRCC was approved within 48 hours.) Attaching SS. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a small ques... why apply for the second card in such a short interval???

Usage is around 60k on this account. MRCC is rewarding only for the first 20k. Plat travel would give proper value for my spends.

So why didn't you applied for plat travel first time... A waiting period of around 6-7 months would have been ideal to apply for MRCC

Had applied for platinum travel around 7 months back but rejected.

It's more than 15 days now. Keep getting calls from amex but whenever I pick up there is a waiting music playing and the call drops on its own in around 1 minute. This has been happening every day for the last 10 days. Customer support over chat and call just reassure that they have put my case on priority but to no avail. Please help if anyone has any idea.

@SSV Extremely crap service from Amex after more than 25 days of requesting the backend to call me. They finally call and tell me you can only apply for second card after 6 months of the first card. Here on technofino every second person who holds amex is approved for second card in under 6 months. Every backend guy informs me of different policy. Serious issue with Amex India.

Very strange thing happened to you..
there is no such thing that there should be 6 months gap between 1st card and 2nd card..
there were instances where all the 3 cards were approved wtihin 2 weeks..

what is your current status of your plat travel application? was is rejected or still in pending?

Wow. I applied for my 2nd card before my first card was delivered in January 2024

The backend says 6 months. The support says 90 days. This is worse than SBI. Heck I am closing my Amex card.

Backend told me you can't apply before 6 months but how did the system even accept my application and sent vkyc link. Chat support now says that you can apply for a second card only after 90 days of first card. All agents say different story. Some ask to wait. Some say it's under review. Some say it's on hold. Some say do rekyc.

yes, lately we are seeing this.. most likely they might have got enough customers recently..

Like an idiot I am spending 50k ( total limit) on MRCC every month when I could easily spend 20k on MRCC and around 35k on Plat travel to maximize benefits.

you are right..
for optimal returns, one you should spend:
1) a maximum of 20k on MRCC per calendar month ( there should be a minimum of 4 transactions of > 1.5k each)
2)must spend 4L on Plat travel per anum ( anything above 4L spend is waste again)
