Devaluation Amex Gyftr going to add 0.75% fee on Amazon Pay vouchers from Feb 1st

Effective 1 February 2025, a 0.75% convenience fee + GST will be charged on the purchase of Amazon Pay and Amazon Shopping gift vouchers via e-voucher platform on Reward Multiplier.

Amex has also joined the bandwagon of charging convenience fee on Amazon vouchers. Firstly there is shortage of high denomination Amazon pay vouchers and now this. Received this mail for Plat travel card.

right now amazon charges connivence fee for using credit card in utility payments, i think day is not far when amazon will charge connivence fee for using amazon pay vouchers

i think iss sankat se humein rupay hi bacha sakta hai, rupay/npci should bring something like rupay vouchers kya bolte ho rupay vale babaji!??

Same here. Didn't get this email yet. I've got Amex trifecta.

right now amazon charges connivence fee for using credit card in utility payments, i think day is not far when amazon will charge connivence fee for using amazon pay vouchers

i think iss sankat se humein rupay hi bacha sakta hai, rupay/npci should bring something like rupay vouchers kya bolte ho rupay vale babaji!??

Those who dnt know, RuPay vouchers already available, its called RuPay Prepaid cards or RuPay Gift cards.

You can use RuPay Prepaid cards or RuPay Gift cards for utility payments.

Got this for both plat travel as well as MRCC.

Already with lower denominations like 250 gyftr was difficult to use - now it's impossible!
 
Amex had already reduced the Amazon pay voucher to 250 to make it troublesome to buy, and now they added 0.9% extra
 
So which card is best for buying Amazon Pay vouchers ahead ? which is the best alternative for MRCC ? 🤔

It's just that they are charging this on their platform. If we find someplace where we can buy amazon pay vouchers and accepts amex, we should be fine I think. On MRCC, Anyway you are only getting extra 1x accelerated points on their platform which ain't worth much.
