I applied for two Amex CCs and had two CIBIL hits within two days. While my CIBIL has not been affected, I would advise anyone to proceed with this in mind.
Same here , applied for 2 cards in 5 minutes gap, two cibil hits and third card applied after 5 days and another hit..
So total 3 hits in 5 days.
My cibil enquiries list is full of AMEX, 😉

As per the information I received , this rule is getting followed from 17th August
Rest if anyone got their second card post 17th with less than 90 days of first card can comment .
I received this info from amex head customer service when I escalated about my wife's second card application got rejected
Nevertheless , I got it resumed with some escalations thought
So, I got unlucky in this scenario..
I applied for MRCC and Platinum Travel on 11 th, got them both approved almost in a few hours.
On 17th applied for Gold Charge, got Conditionally pre approved immediately and in about 30 minutes later, Amex said to me "see you later mate, can't give you third card now"

On 15th..I don't think Amex will change conditions Mid way. Typically, they don't do such things. It's a major change and they will inform client before implementing it
They don't do these sorts of things typically - correct .

They can do if the situation warrants.
There could be an influx of application and that too , 2 or 3 from the same customer..hence there could be a change of plan
Any business wants more customer base.
.that may not necessarily translate into more cards per each customer which may result in high credit risk
.my 2 cents

Damn, that was too fast. Card is delivered within 24 hours. Just got the card delivered.
Yes, if you live in Mumbai... other metros within 48 hours...
Lighting struck you in the form of "Amex" and "BD" combo..

Yeah mostly like that was the reason for rejection

If you apply 2-3 cards together and do only one vkyc then might be you can bypass the check but if one card is approved and second card is applied within 90 days most probably it would get rejected.
I applied for Platinum Charge in July and got the card. Got it cancelled, as wasn't too happy with joining benefits. They offered me 100k points.

I applied for 3 cards now and I didn't had to do even a single Vkyc. All 3 times it said, Kyc is completed when I clicked the Kyc link.

Basic Amex rule is one KYC is required in 90 days.

This is what I was told from Amex head customer service as the rejection reason for my wife's card as they said second card can only be applied after 90 days of card issuance .

I am not saying grievience departments are always correct have seen many contradicting things happening in the past but post 17th August all my referrals who had an existing cc issued less than 90 days got rejected whereas first time applicants are still getting their card approved

How much value can we expect when used for Qatar?
It depends on the sector and travel dates
I was just doing a random search yesterday for a one way from Zurich to Delhi in mid December , for 4 Pax ( 2 adults + 1 kid + 1 infant ) , award was available for a a total miles requirement of 85250 miles + 30k INR

Revenue for the same was up at 2.5L

Now 85250 Qatar is about 170500 Amex

Revenue fare can be as high as 3.2 also

Does that mean it is 0.50 valur per MR

An update regarding Amex card

Recently Amex made a change and now second cards can be taken only after 90 days of first card .

This change is a hit or miss.

If you want to apply for a new amex card , you can use my referral link(referral link in my signature )
chat support confirmed?

For multiple cards they want income proof. Email that is received for KYC also has link to upload Income documents. If not uploaded, applications may get rejected.

This is economy?

Also, many times i see miles required significantly changes for 2 seats and 4 seats. Not like singapore where if available all seats have same miles.
