Basically 45k Taj Vouchers is pretty much useless tbh. 125k MR points benefit from transfer partners. I need this card for a few bookings at restaurants abroad.

I recently requested the cancellation of my Platinum Charge Card due to the uncertainty of its limit and asked for a refund of my joining benefits. Consequently, they canceled my card and debited the 100,000 points joining bonus. I received an email confirming the cancellation, and it was reflected in my Amex app. My question is: Is there any possibility of facing issues later on, such as having to pay the outstanding joining fee or other amounts? Currently outstanding shows 70790 that equal to joining fee.

If you dont make any transactions on the card, I think you're not liable to pay the joining fees, theey will cancel it. Best option is to ask the customer care.

I have done some transactions and cleared that. Customer care said it canceled you will get confirmation mail with in 24-48hours

Yeah then I guess you need to confirm it with the customer care if you'll be relieved of those charges, shouldn't be a problem

This is a tricky situation but if the CC has promised a refund, they should be working on it.

Give it some time and then followup, you should be getting a resolution soon.

This is something new, generally you cant cancel a card if you have outstanding. So i had similar scenario with icici once, had to pay total outstanding (including fees) they initated refund to my bank in 7days.
Guess Amex peak here too If they cancel with outstanding fees
