AMEX Plat travel fee not charged

I upgraded my AMEX MRCC to Platinum travel last month and have also paid the bill of first statement. But the joining fee was not charged. Since my MRCC was FYF was from referral, I’m not sure when do they usually charge joining fee. But in my experience almost all cards charge joining fees before generation of first statement.

Can anyone confirm if this will be FYF card due to the upgrade or the fee will be charged? I was told that I’ll get 10k points as joining benefit plus another 10k points for upgrade. So 20k in total, I’ve recorded their voice call in case they deny from this fact.

Same here. Upgraded from MRCC to platinum travel and the joining fees is not charged. (in my case, only 10000 points for upgrade was mentioned in the email though).

Same in case of a family member. MRCC to Plat travel & no joining fee charged. It’s been 3 months now. But no points were credited as joining offer.

Currently no bonus points. I’m yet to spend 15k rs. I’ll get 10k points for that

Actually i have seen many comments where people are using both the card, in-fact they were confirmed that without asking to amex they will not close MRCC card.
I don’t know where is disconnect.

No it will work to test try wallet load. Even I was upgraded in 2022 from smart earn to travel plat. Both are working.
