Amex Platinum charge upgrade offer with 130k points as welcome bonus. Is it worth?

Hi,

I saw today I Amex app an upgrade offer.
It is saying Amex Platinum charge upgrade offer with 130k points as welcome bonus. Is it worth?

If I transfer to Marriott, I get 130k points. That value may be equal to 50k easily.
Total charges are 66K - 18% = 77880.

I have to get another 27k using this card.
It also gives so many hotel memberships but not sure if it is worth like my other cards like HDFC DCB and Atlas ?

Hey guys, I'm getting Amex Plat Charge Card as an upgrade to my Gold Charge Card. Getting 150k points offer for 77880 charges. I'm a rewards and cashback junkie, don't care much for too many elite memberships, etc. Feel like I'm answering myself, but is there any point of going for it? Any ways in which we get a good reward rate on this card? Also, it says some renewal benefit on spending 20L in a year. What is this renewal benefit? Please guide me.

Today I've received email from Amex stating upgrade to Platinum and get 150000 points.

This is a very good deal and no brainer if you ask me ! Even if you consider 50paise for each point, you would have recovered 95% of the cost for the first year.. rest of the year you can further accelerate your points in rewards multiplier portal (10x, 20x). You can refer the below pdf . I'm not sure whether this is updated but can Google to verify the same ! I'm planning to take it

Hello everyone, hope you're all doing well and had a lovely week so far.

I’m considering upgrading my Plat Travel to the Plat Charge card under the 1,50,000 MR upgrade offer and would love to get your advice on a few points. Here are my main questions:

1. If I spend 4L on my Plat Travel card before the 28th of February deadline (offer expiry), will I receive the points as per the Plat Travel card’s earning structure?
2. Once I’ve received the points from the 4L spend, can I upgrade to the Plat Charge card and merge the total MR points from both cards?
3. After completing the first year with the Plat Charge card, is it possible to downgrade back to the Plat Travel card or do I have to cancel?
4. Alternatively, upon upgrading, will Plat Travel remain open along with Plat Charge? If yes, then can I parallel-spend on both to do the 1,50,000 bonus for charge & 4,00,000 for travel, and then close the charge after 1st year and retain all points in travel?

I’d really appreciate any insights or experiences you might have on this!
