I was trying this amex spending power utility for my gold charge card.

its showed declined even for 2000, does that mean i cant spend above 2000?

Yes even i had the same issue but never the card got declined. I had even made a payment of 1.2L as well when spending power got declined for 5k. I had called CC and informed this

Does checking spending power again and again raises a red flag?

I dont actually check the spending power. My card was never declined. The max transaction I made was about 2.5L. Now it shows 15L max

How many months or years it it took you to reach 15L
And how much were you using your card every month

I got the card in Jan 23, I did an international trip and put all my spending on that about 6L. After that spending is like 15k a month mostly for purchasing vouchers on reward multiplayer

Very common issue with Charge card from Amex. This is a glitch in their systems where if you have any Transaction settings turned off , For eg: International transaction, then it will show a very low Spending Power. Turn On all your transaction setting and try again, You'll see the actual Spending Power approved for your card. I recently found this on call with an Amex Agent when I was trying to make a high value purchase.

I tried this but to no avail. Perhaps they have fixed this bug.

Max 10L is what normally shown if you did not use alot of credit & paid bk within the last year. If you want to use more just contact customer care they will help u out.

tool limit. more limit contact support, they might approve depends on eligibility.

Better to call first to ensure there’s no transaction failure

Call them and say the amount you want to spend
They will make it available to that extent

not only amex but for any bank, generally its suggestable to call customercare and inform about big/large purchase before swipping or using that card. it reduces additional burden.

Beyond you have to call customer care and ask
