Amex Trifecta - Optimal Usage Guide

Sometimes back I wrote a handwritten note on how to maximise the utilisation of AMEX Trifecta and shared over Twitter, so here's the guide. Hope it helps

The Cards used here are the followings:

1. AMEX Membership Rewards Credit Card
2. AMEX Platinum Travel Credit Card
3. AMEX Gold Charge Card

As per the talks, AMEX ban is suppose to get lifted "soon enough", this guide may help you to make your choice on with which card you'd like to go for and how to maximise the MR points accumulation without breaking the bank

Mine is ~2.65%. I never transfer to my bank account.

Used to be 1% more for couple of months around may and June. Never ever transferred to bank, so I don't know what caused them to increase the charge for those two months

I haven't tried transferring wallet balance to payment bank. But wallet to other bank account transfers has bad consequences for your paytm account/wallet (higher fees for adding money to wallet via credit card etc.). Not sure about the impact from paytm bank transfer.

I add money to wallet using amex cards and then I use it to pay CC bills.

What about paying to someone else Paytm wallet after loading our Paytm wallet. That is considered OK?

Yes, 2.65 fixed for AmEx for a person not transferring to bank. I have tested this on 3 AmEx cards.

Loaded 4k in wallet.
Was charged 106 extra which comes to 2.65 fixed rate.

Activated upto 300 cashback at 2.35% before loading so got 96 cashback in fuel wallet.

for me wallet loading charges have gone up to 3.35% but paytm gives 3.35% in fuel wallet
so easily i am able to withdraw almost 9k

No transfers of any kind.
Fuel wallet can only be used on petrol pump.

It is not fixed as such, the moment you transfer that money to anyone's bank account, the rate could go back upto 4.5 %
