Has anyone applied for IDP recently? I knew it costs only 1000 INR for 1 year validity. However, I tried to apply, it's showing 6540 INR.
I'm from WB. Is there any WB specific additional fee?
It costs roughly 1500 or something for 1 year. I applied via Delhi, but all states should have a similar cost.
Dont use 3rd party providers who give ads etc., as they are much more expensive.

It depends on the RTO. This is the funny thing they say everything is online but for me the application did not even move at all for two weeks straight then one day I went to RTO and asked them to proceed with the application. That day itself I went through 2-3 different departments to complete the initial 4-5 stages.
From what I have seen either they are not comfortable with the online applications, or they are short staffed to handle both offline and online applications or they don't have basic training or timeline for the online applications to process.
This is not the first online experience I have with banglore RTO. Earlier I had requested for address change and they took their sweet time to process after 2 months😂. This is the true story of digital India.
NOTE : Just checked the application status it is still in PRINTING IDP FOR A DL stage 😂. I applied for IDP on 24th March and completed my trip on 27th April still no IDP.

Luckily nobody asked 😂. Drove around 600kms on scooter. If you are driving by following rules nobody will ask. But it depends on the country also, how strict they are.
But you can't do anything if you are applying ages before your trip and still not able to get the IDP. And they don't even provide in the proper booklet format, when I asked about the format they said it will come in a A4 printed paper 😂 they don't have booklets currently.

Does anyone have a booklet IDP and can share the format? I am unable to find it anywhere
The RTO office I visited today said they don’t have booklet but only the printed A4 paper. He said if you print and bring it he would sign and seal it along with the A4 one.
I found the PIB release format but unsure if it is simply printed on A6 or the cover page is a thicker paper?
