Applied Diners Club Privilege LTF, received Milennia

I have applied Diners Club Privilege card 2 weeks ago as a LTF basis, HDFC confirmed this will be approved and did my phone verification 5 times. The bank assured me over call that I will get my card within a week and everything is fine. I get a message that my Milennia card is ready to dispatch, and not what I requested for.
I tried to reach their customer care and after hours of tries I had a call with the bank and they said its what they can offer. By that time they have already sent the package. I asked them to close that Milennia card as I already have better cards like SBI cashback or Amex MRCC/Plat Trav etc
They said they will close it.
How can a bank send another card after approval and all the verification, disappointed with HDFC

It's possible with HDFC !! What you apply you can get something different, based on their criteria, which they don't reveal.

It's HDFC bro! Its possible. They think they are the best & can treat us like that! Happened EXACTLY SAME with me couple of months back! Exact same thing! In my case limit was also 1/3rd. I applied C2C. It's fine limit is understandable but different card variant. When I asked for closure bank said in future it will be difficult to HDFC CC if I close this now etc etc! So now that cc is lying somewhere, just transacted for 1rs after 11 months will again do same! I have no plans to use it. Just getting spammed on email sms offering loan based on my cc! Be ready for this!

Is it true that if I Cancel this card, it will be difficult in future to own any HDFC card? Also if I keep this, is there any chance that I may get an upgrade from HDFC in future?

you may try sending Upgrade request to hdfc email care. or to chennai office, if willing to upgrade.

HDFC C2C application - Wrong card issued

I applied for a Diners Club Privilege card 2 weeks ago on C2C basis by visiting my branch. I received a verification call where the lady confirmed that I had applied for a DCP card. Yet today I receive an email stating that my millennia card was approved. How incompetent is HDFC? And how do I...

I applied for Diner's Club Privilege as upgrade for Millennia (Visa variant) under alumni offer.

they agreed also to the request, though I didn't fulfilled the criteria of Salary, Millennia limit was also 99k only.

yesterday I received SMS that my card upgrade request is success, and found they issued me a Diner's Millennia 😒

now today I received email that my DCP is approved n assigned.
though on mycards web I can see Diner's Millennia still, while on full website it shows old Millennia only. I tried adding the last four digit they mentioned in email to my account, but that shows error.

Wait for 1-2 days, may be it is still in process.

tht's HDFC,they take decision on which card can be given to u as per thr criteria, and doesn't solely depend what u applied for. most other bank just reject applications, but HDFC takes decision which card will suit u most as per income n other condition analysis by thr internal team.

last year I applied C2C for my first HDFC card, Agent marked the form with DCP and till end he was convinced that my application will be approved for LTf DCP. but in end HDFC gave me Millennia.

Just applied for DCP as upgrade to Millennia under Alumni program.
request approved, but I still need to see what card they actually send, cause I already received 2 different replies from HDFC. first on SMS it mentioned that my Millennia is upgraded to a Diner's Millennia . I complained and then received an email that my DCP is approved.
now only time will tell what I will get.

btw, Millennia is not a bad card, you can use it to get 5% on Flipkart & Amazon atleast, this will help you free some limit on SBI cashback card if you are going to cross that 10000rs limit for monthly cashback 😀 , and those 1k amazon voucher on quarterly 1L spend are a bonus. plus no tension about utilization of cashback as that can be directly redeemed in statement credit at 1p= 1rs rate.

for me, I got dedicated card for Flipkart & Amazon, hence my spend were mostly giving me 1% only and was looking for some option in reward points to enter the miles game.and the LTF Alumni offer is a cherry on icing.
so I wanted to switch from Millennia to DCB/DCP

They taking care of your cibil as well. Since you may not be eligible for DCP it would have been rejected. That would have impacted your CIBIL.
So i have seen in hdfc only. That they approved the lower variant card with less limit. So that the cibil does get harm
