Applied Diners Club Privilege LTF, received Milennia

I have applied Diners Club Privilege card 2 weeks ago as a LTF basis, HDFC confirmed this will be approved and did my phone verification 5 times. The bank assured me over call that I will get my card within a week and everything is fine. I get a message that my Milennia card is ready to dispatch, and not what I requested for.
I tried to reach their customer care and after hours of tries I had a call with the bank and they said its what they can offer. By that time they have already sent the package. I asked them to close that Milennia card as I already have better cards like SBI cashback or Amex MRCC/Plat Trav etc
They said they will close it.
How can a bank send another card after approval and all the verification, disappointed with HDFC

That would definitely 'hurt'. But after all its banking business. Rejecting of card would be confirmed loss to bank.

But approving the lower variant card. Would be 50-50 chance of profit and loss

Similar but opposite had happened with me in YES BANK. I had applied Yes Prosperity (basic) but I received Yes Prosperity Edge. Which was higher Variant

Same thing happened to me i applied for c2c regalia and received business Moneyback with limit of 23000rs

i just recd a call from an agent offering me dcb as ltf based on c2c (limit of 25k)...i dont think it's possible but still wanted all your opinion on this?..they're also offering millenia/regalia as ltf
