Atlas apply

Just clear all balance from the card you wanna close, call them and ask to close. It gets closed instantly, and then 5 minutes later, call again and request Atlas. No need to wait. Did the same exact thing 10 days ago, worked without an issue, new Atlas was generated within an hour of closing my Flipkart Axis and received 4 days later.
Is any new cibil inquiry for this on call atlas cc generation?
 
If you have magnus , just call ask them to upgrade your card to atlas
They would send a OTP for your consent and card will be instantly generated.
You will receive the card within 3-4 days
No, I tried this and it didn't work. This was what CC told me:
  1. I need to cancel one of my three cards over the call.
  2. After 3-4 working days I will get a call from retention team and need to confirm cancellation
  3. After another 3-4 days I need to apply for Atlas card through website/bank/agent etc. as usual
  4. Axis will follow due process just like any other card application (including CIBIL hit) and approve/reject card.
So if I start the process today I might get the card after a month or so.

Axis says they have no process of upgrading/swapping existing credit card for another one if you are already holding three cards.

If you already have 3 cards , axis won't offer you 4th card and you need to close one of the cards

I did the same steps today but everything was done in single call with various departments. They first transferred to retention team where the existing card was closed and immediately connected to team for upgrade to atlas. Gave the consent otp in sms link and card was instantly generated but with shared limit. Don't think there was cibil hit. Currently have ace, airtel and closed myzone. Not sure why they gave such lengthy process for the same. Thanks to @anirban.choudhury @tryabp @S S V for their help. Hope sharing this helps.

I just called Axis right now and the person who took the call explicitly said that *for me* this process is not available and I have to wait for 4 days before the retention team calls me to cancel the card and proceed with Axis application separately after that. It bloody feels infuriating.

Maybe it has got something to do with me paying all my card bills always on time that Axis makes it very hard for me to get cards. Probably I should miss a payment and give them a bit of interest money so they treat me better.

This is so bad. Sorry to hear that but definitely not worth giving them any more extra money !
Also maybe to add context, have liberty savings account but not much AMB. Had pre approved offer showing up couple of weeks but not now. Always have negative balance in bill statement because I pay off before it gets generated
I actually tried applying directly but they rejected saying multi card policy and then tried this approach.
Sorry not sure if any of these make difference but thought of sharing.
By the way, if you don't mind sharing, is your current limit > 2L ?

The issue is because you already have 3 cards
Officially axis can't give you more than 3 active cards hence they asked you to cancel.
Once card is cancelled you can ask for an upgrade the very same day
Sometimes you can even ask CS to connect you directly to retention team to expedite the process of card closure

First thing to do is 3 transaction of any value so that the joining bonus of 5000 EM.gets credited.

Axis CC executives are always high
They have no clue about their product offerings
Complete the 3 transactions and EM would be credited within the next 3-7 days

Yes, my current Magnus limit is 6.6L. By the way I didn't get a call from the retention department yet on cancelling the card. So just stuck here in limbo. Sad to see all others getting their third card cancelled and upgraded immediately while I am here sitting around twiddling my thumbs. I have an education payment of 25k coming up tomorrow and I guess I will have to use Magnus and settle for half the return. Or I think I will just use SC Smart and get the cashback.

Well i did unbox card and set pin also but couldn’t see whole virtual card, why? Why i cant use online till card delivery physically?

Well i think in your case may be you called customer care after 7-8pm at that time retention team will not available to attend your call via transfer so retention team call you after sometime so better to call before evening for instant connect to retention team…hope this helps everyone…
