Hi All..

This is to highlight fraud done by Axis in posting cashback on the Axis Airtel credit card
My Statement generation date is 12th of every month.
For the Airtel Broadband payment of 942.82 done on 11th October the same was not posted in October month Statement but posted in November statement.
But the transaction done on 11th November got posted in November month's statement itself.
This is some serious fraud being done by them. This lead to 2 transaction being posted is same bill making me loose some 240 Rs cash back.

Using the card for last 6 months.. But saw such fraud for the first time. 🪓Is is really the shitiest bank.. Have heard a lot but saw personally as well..
Was thinking of getting Atlas next month..
But after seeing this kind of fraud will stay miles away from any new products from them.
I'm not bothered by the amount lost here as it's small but this makes me sure they can mess up big time as well..

Thanks.

Update 14th Nov:
They generated statement on 11th in October instead of usual statement date of 12th.. Not sure why..

But coz of this 🪓shit lost the cashback..

Update: 15 November.- changed the post title as members feel it's not a fraud.
Old title: Axis Cards are Fraud.

This is normal for every credit card.
Change the title as there is no Fraud activity here.

Checked.. They generated statement on 11th in October instead of usual statement date of 12th.. Not sure why..

Bro, I can understand your frustration as you lost cashback. Many are getting wrong cashback with Airtel Axis card. But there is no fraud as you mentioned and you should know how Axis works.

I have Axis cards from 4 years, what I observed is 'Axis generates the Statement early if it's Sunday/Second Saturday/holiday on Statement date'.

In your case, October 12th was Second Saturday, so statement generated on 11th.

In previous months, the transactions done on 11th were settled before 12th midnight and posted in the same month statement and you never had an issue.

In October, the transaction done on 11th was not settled on same day but statement generated on 11th only so it posted in this month statement.

Note : In 2025, January 12th Sunday and 11th Second Saturday so your Statement will be generated on 10th only. So better to make payments much earlier otherwise you will loose the cashback again.

So if my billing date is 13th.. I should stay away from making any payments on 12 and 13th.. to be on the safer side right?
It is ALWAYS SAFE and better to pay before 3 days. That's the max BBPS usually takes to settle all payments.

So, most of the automated payments by Apps/Banks do carryout about 3-4 days BEFORE the DUE DATE.

Follow them, to be on the safe side.

In May 2024, 12th was on Sunday and 11th Second Saturday, so statement generated date was on 10th. Once check the statement.

From June to September, 12th was not any holiday. It looks like, the transactions done on 11th were settled before 12th midnight and posted in the same month statement and you never had an issue.

That's too much to track..
Not able to understand why statement date will be changed when everything is system driven.. Which is working 24*7.

I also have rewards point issues on indian oil card, lodged a complaint on both nodal and PNO, both are unable to resolve saying "have patience" bullshit for last 3-4 months i was ready to complaint in RBi ombudsman when tried to complaint found out that their is not option for rewards point complaint in RBI ombudsman directary only have major issues for credit cards, now where will I go ? redeem some and then close the card maybe,

Since when it's normal to change the billing date without informing customer?
Are bhai it's normal for many banks and Axis follows the rule that if statement generation date falls on a holiday, they generate it before that date. In your case it was National Holiday due to Dussehra so they generated a day before.
In CC game never rely on the last day transactions, they can be settled in current or next month. So better to pay in next billing cycle to avoid any hassles.

Please mark this as solution if you feel this clarifies your doubt.

Not sure how it's normal coz I don't remember any such instances with other bank or haven't seen banks mentioning it their TnC.

I barely do 2 transactions per month on this card one broadband and another gas cylinder booking. If they can mess up with just these 2 then I don't have words to praise them.
This is not fraud. As said above this is merchant claim time which sometimes is earlier and sometimes late. Nothing can be done. Best is every month either do transaction from 1-5 or after 12th so there is no scope of cashback issue.

Maybe I am missing something but why not pay a few days in Advance, for example instead of 11th, pay the bill on say 5th of every month and there will be no risk of losing cashback. All bills have atleast 10-15 days payment window and can be easily aligned in a way that it's far from statement day.

This happened due to axis generated bill prior to regular statement date.
Yeah so that's why I mentioned to make payment one week prior to regular bill date or few days post bill is generated to keep cashback thing crystal clear.

Secondly few months have 30 while few have 31 days so never consider a fixed date for bill generation. It may be 1-2 days updow any month

Seeing this change in dates with Axis only..

Haven't seen such change in statement dates by any other bank.

In my opinion this is not fraud. I am using 4 axis credit cards and never ever found any fraud. Even with its lowest card Neo, I was able to connect to customer care without much hassle.
As far as cash back and edge rewards are concerned, if you are not satisfied, you may choose other credit card.
I personally feel that I got benefitted from its earlier generous reward system and even now it's reward system is working for me (m4b, atlas and vistara infinite) so I am happy, other credit cards are not giving such rewards and point transfer ( for me at least). Also axis card is giving lounge access for guests as well ( international lounges) , so for me it is better than my diners black ( though diners black has good reward system and no need of priority pass for lounges)
So cheers and enjoy the life and pay 2 to 3 days before the due date
