Axis Bank Introduces Mobile OTP – A Game Changer for Secure Banking!

🚀 Axis Bank is rolling out a new security feature – Mobile OTP! 🚀

If you use Axis Internet Banking, you know how important OTPs are for login and transactions. Until now, these OTPs were sent via SMS, but Axis Bank is now introducing Mobile OTP via the Axis Mobile App for a more secure and seamless experience.

What is Axis Mobile OTP?

Axis Mobile OTP allows users to generate OTPs directly from the Axis Mobile Banking App, eliminating the need to wait for SMS-based OTPs. This is useful when you have network issues or delays in receiving OTP messages.

How to Use Axis Mobile OTP?

1️⃣ Download the latest version of the Axis Mobile App.
2️⃣ Complete registration within the app to enable Mobile OTP.
3️⃣ When logging in to Internet Banking, select the Mobile OTP option instead of waiting for an SMS.
4️⃣ Generate OTP in the app and enter it for secure authentication.

Works for me, once I signed out of the Android app, I started getting SMS

Maybe sign into app and sign out/ de-register again? Do you have any other phones or devices where you might be logged in
Even if you de-register Axis Mobile and start getting OTP, it will stop again once we re-register mobile app right? So we can either use Axis Mobile but be forced into this ultra super duper slow time-wasting retarded "mobile OTP" for netbanking. Or we use netbanking with SMS but forget about Axis Mobile. They've taken away our choices

Well, I tried doing it again by signing up and then clicking Not You to register
It gave me popup in mobile saying I am sucessfully deregistered. However when I try to login to Internet banking I see the same Mobile OTP option

After retrying for a while, I tried recently to login but still it asks mobile OTP. I gave another option a try and to my surprise, the chosen 2FA is SMS/Email OTP. I tried to change to Mobile OTP and then again to SMS/Email and still this is of no use

Mail pno, whatever you want write it ....
Customer care would just parrot instead of providing any solution here I guess... 🙁
 
Edit: This doesn't work after a while, reverts to mobile OTP without any mobile app activated else where... PATHETIC!

Finally I think the changes I did took some time to work. Here is this new login box in internet banking screen asking for SMS OTP
They really screwed this badly!! Current setup is you can use internet banking without mobile app installed

I tried this option too by changing the NetSecure OTP method from SMS/Email to Mobile OTP and then back from Mobile OTP to SMS/Email in NetBanking settings. I made this change around 10-15 days ago, but even now, when I try to log in, it still asks for Mobile OTP. It seems like the change hasn't taken effect. Have you found any workaround for this, or is this just another broken implementation from Axis?

Such a stupid implementation they have made. I haven't done anything post last login and now it is asking to enter mobile OTP
