Axis Bank sending notice for clarification regarding customer's travel spends on atlas

Axis Bank today sent notices to many of its Atlas credit card customers requesting clarification and invoices regarding their "travel category spends". Axis Atlas is a travel-focused credit card, so it's surprising that the bank is asking for invoices and clarification for travel category expenses over the past few months. A few days ago, Axis Bank deducted Edge Miles and Edge Reward Points from some customers' reward accounts, citing business transactions. Now, they are requesting clarification on affected customers' travel spends within the next 30 days, otherwise, the bank will cancel their credit cards.

Here, I'm attaching a copy of the notice email:

Many genuine Atlas customers have been affected by this move. Some people just spent under 10k on travel categories and received clarification notices. I can understand Axis's desire to eliminate abusers from their customer list, but troubling genuine customers is unacceptable. This is the main reason I didn't add the Axis Magnus Burgundy credit card/Axis Magnus credit card to our list of the best credit cards for 2024. While it may offer good rewards, it's not reliable at all. Axis should revert to their old credit card reward system as they are not capable of running a reward system with airmiles transfer partners.
For peace of mind, stay away from Axis Bank credit cards.
 
You missed the most important point. Everything is done without any communication to customer.

I missed to mention “lack of communication”…
But I also missed about quite a lot og things as well..
Don’t get me write all those, it will be another big essay..
Unfortunately there are a lot of suffering customers here.. I don’t want to rub the salt on their wounds…

But one thing I had repeatedly said before and would say it again…
“ Once a cheater , always a cheater “…

Contacted CC via email on same day and got email stating list of merchants
shared all invoices on March 16 (25 pages) and again got same list of merchants on March 18
Raised to PNO, reshared the invoices. Poertal got unblocked on Mar 23 although no response recieved stating unblock
portal again got blocked on May 29, spoke to cc but no satisfactory response.
Build a case starting from initial event and raised to RBI on May 30th.

A very good initiative .. someone has to take this forward rather than staying mum..
There are so many active heavy users, Hope they join hands in here..

If rbi dont respond, shoot them an email too.

I did the same with kotak and idfc, both my rbi ombudsman complain was taken to closure.

Even my edge rewards portal is blocked inspite of written confirmation on email of unblock. I will wait for their response over email
 
False. Don't have any travel spends(10% category) since the last unblock, yet account is inaccessible. It's just Axis is a dogshit bank who probably can't afford the product features that they have put out and this is their cost mitigation strategy.

I am travelling now and will be back in about 8-9 days, if portal doesn't get unblocked by then will also raise with Ombudsman
 
I disagree

My 10% spends are minimal compare to other catagory still blocked
By the looks of it, it is nothing to with 10% return spends ..as several people reported even with average spends , they also got blocked...
 
Got unblocked today and immediately transferred out all points and miles. Can never take a risk with this bank now. As soon as I accumulate a 1000 miles, they're gonna be gone beyond Axis' control. Rubbish systems. No dependability.
I have been doing this since last Dec when people were blocked on Magnus.

Thanks. Can you please share the link where RBI complaint is to be given. I'm making the case. Its unblocked now but can't transfer points. Keeps giving some 4522 error on the portal every day (dont know whats this new thing is). But i'm planning to go ahead and raise the complaint simply for absolute mental harassment.
