Axis Bank to charge 25paise per sms from 15th December 2024

I just got a intimation from axis that mandatory sms as per rbi regulation ( I guess intimation for change in balance/settings change) will be charged 25p/sms with maximum charges being RS15 /qtr.

Anyone else got this intimation? Is this just for account holders or for cc holders as well?

Pehle banks flat rate leta tha tab RBI ne bol diya actual usage basis pe lo, tabhi kehna chahiye tha mandatory SMS free rakho and baaki pe actual usage basis pe lo...

Abhi kuch banks mandatory pe nahi lete, lekin ye trend sabhi lagta hai follow karega jaise cap laga Utilities wagera mein, exception are always there...

Lekin what if customer kahe hame mandatory SMS bhi nahi chahiye 😂 tab actual usage 0 hoga toh 🤣

I know someone will comment firh toh fraud/ unauthorised txns hoga pata bhi nahi chalega 🤣 lekin...

Great, but this step of Axis gave me a chance to reduce one more card from my small cards list

Now only left with 5 cards from 4 banks only

I think this message from axis is also triggering one thing in my mind and that is 15th is Sunday and 16th is Monday they will definitely deduct charges from accounts on Sunday.

People going for Account closure on Monday may also face closure charges

Yeah that's insane, they are easily targeting firstly for Rs. 15 per quarter then after a year they will move the quarter criteria to month and then per day, its business strategy but they are implementing in banking
