Axis Credit Card Rejection - Should I Ask for Reason?

rakesh3929

TF Buzz
I recently applied for Axis MyZone CC as it was provided as LTF. Upon applying immediately within 30 minutes I received an SMS saying my credit card application got rejected. There was neither a proper email to denote my receipt of application nor an email mentioning rejection. Everything was through SMS.

Later, when I checked my CIBIL report, I found that there was a CIBIL enquiry for the credit card application and there was a column called "Amount" which showed a whooping 30 Lakh whereas other card application enquiries show only 1000, 10000. Could this be a reason for my application getting rejected? Can this be considered as an error on Axis part? If yes, how do I approach this and fight back?

Note - My current CIBIL score is 783 and Crif score which Axis uses is 793.

this is a regular practice by axis, they don't approve LTF Cards easily for new applicants and they don't mention the exact reason for the same
you can escalate it further but I feel there's no use
they might provide you any reason and easily close the case
Don't waste your time for this useless card, move on.....

Mail to PNO stating as per RBI guideline you are required to provide the specific reason(s) for rejection. Wait for next response/30 days and if you do not get exact reason then complaint to RBIO and also ask for compensation.

Same reply as sjmajumder, PNO is your only solution. Once PNO gives you a reason and it seems legitimate, like there is some issue on your end or anything, we don't know yet, I'm just assuming then you obviously cannot escalate it further to RBIO as they will close it by stating that reason.

For now, I’m expecting an automated response from PNO, which will help you escalate it further 😂 let's see.

Most probably no. U will get the exact reason for rejection from pno. I got it

Let's see.

Btw, If I remember correctly, your case was you already own axis airtel and you wanted to get another axis airtel in rupay variant? Correct?

That's ain't going to happen. Forget about it.
U r right. I got the exact reason in the mail by pno. Make sure that don't forget to quote the RBI guidelines in the mail. We get two Airtel credit card of different variants via pre-approved only.

Axis is too dumb honestly, even after RuPay variant circulating and NTB people are able to apply, yet their customer care is so clueless.

This is the second time I am receiving the same message. I did quote the RBI guidelines as I saw it in a post from @sjmajumder where he shared an email screenshot. Attaching the same for reference.

Should I continue asking for a proper reason till the 30 day period before I raise a complaint with RBIO?

Write to PNO if they reply with a proper reason then it's fine otherwise u can directly reg a complaint at RBI BO u no need to wait for 30 days as u don't get the resolution from highest point of contact

Ur case is not a service and it doesn't take any time for resolution
It's a matter of clarification and obeying the guidelines of RBI on cc applications
So, 30 days period is not a count here but u need to reach till PNO

Got it. Will ask for a proper reason one more time and then register a complaint. Thanks for your suggestion.
