Hi everyone
When I checked my axis Bank app now, I just see that a newly issued Indian oil rupay card is showing in the app . I didn't apply/upgrade for any Indian oil card or gives any consent for the same. Then how axis issued the card without my consent and knowledge??? Really shocking & unbelievable!!!! It's my first time issue from axis. How they are supposed to issue this card as I recently upgraded my airtel rupay card. Need your valuable suggestions whether to go with RBI or not???

Final update received from PNO as :

Thank you for writing to Axis Bank.

This is with reference to your complaint raised at The Office of Banking Ombudsman in relation to credit card 652922XXXXXX1234 reflecting in CIBIL.

The reference number for the interaction is: N2025248472639377 and 250009252415 with the bank.

As per our investigation we wish to submit as below:

You holds a credit card number 652922xxxxxx1234.

Due to a technical glitch in the new "Olive/OLCCA" digital channel resulted in the incorrect issuance of credit card.

Our concerned team has already cancelled the affected cards from system.

No joining or annual fees will be charged. The concerned team has ensured no negative reports are made to CIBIL and we have raised request for CIC suppression to the concerned bureaus.

We regret our inability to compensate at this point of time as corrective actions were taken in a timely manner.

The Bank’s stance in the matter has been reviewed and approved by the Bank's Internal Ombudsman.

We request your understanding and kind cooperation in this regard.

We thank you for banking with us & look forward to your continued patronage.

Note:- Interactions are tracked via the Service Request number. We request you not to change the subject line in future correspondence.

We assure you the best of our services.

They simply rejected the compensation even they done this kind of fraud. Didn't provide any written confirmation regarding non liability certificate, no confirmation on removal of reported card to cibil, note provided copy of investigation report and didn't mention who issued the card and how they bypassed the OTP authentication, no compensation.

Please give your valuable suggestions...

Update: They raised a request yesterday for the compensation of 10k for unauthorised card issuance this the cibil report affected . They asked for my bank account details. Should I deny or accept the amount as they try to compensate with 10k?

It's your decision now, whether to take the compensation and settle the case or escalate to ombudsman.

Take it, don't waste your time now.
They will remove the card from your CIBIL or not?

I asked 90K
Ok, previously ICICI tried to mislead me with the compensation. As per my calculation and RBI guidelines it is 55k.
However, the bank did not mention specific amount and asked for my account information. I mailed them the details requesting to share the amount before transferring to my account. They credited 35k and attempted to close the case. I reverted on the same mail with exact calculation and balance amount 20k was transferred after 2-3 weeks.

Exact for me in RBI complaint I mentioned 90k. But yesterday mail of PNO(regulatory desk) just asked for the bank account details, didn't mention anything about the compensation amount . They are trying to close it with 10k only. So that RBI will close it by stating bank already compensated. What to do? Can I increase the amount if I rejected

Here there are two aspects, whether the amount 90k is covered under RBI compensation rule or it is an estimate for the loss of time, other financial impact.
I don't think this case can be interpreted under any of the existing rules, so it's up to the parties to decide on the compensation or link the relevant rule and substantiate for the higher compensation.

I already every possibility like CIBIL damage , unauthorised issuance without customer consent, etc. But bank should mention this mail is regarding the compensation for the same. Instead the mentioned "We understand your concern and will certainly investigate the same. As per Reserve Bank of India RBI circular - RBI/2023-24/72 dated October 26, 2023, compensation is applicable incase the resolution of complaints pertaining to update /rectification of credit information exceeds 30 calendar days from the date of receipt of the complaint. To comply with the above-mentioned directive, bank account details of the complainant are required at the time of registration of the dispute. We therefore request you to reply to this email with the below details of your bank account".
This is completely misleading. Usually we think that this is related to the compensation of delay in removing the account from cibil. Bank is playing too smart to close the case. Give me your suggestions as I already sent the bank account details yesterday. What should I need to mention them now?
