AXIS MAGNUS QUERIES

divyam_taparia

TF Select
As per calculations, Axis magnus gives you 12 reward points for every 200 spends which makes around 6000 reward points for every 1L spend and bonus of 25000 reward points are given which makes total reward points 31k.
As per reward points to reward miles conversion ratio, It is .8 per 1 points = 24,800 miles so can someone give a brief about what is the value of reward mile when you're booking a ticket. In the city I live in major market share is indigo and I travel the most by indigo so will axis magnus give a chance to book indigo tickets?
Also since they also give out reward points for ITC and marriott hotels what is the value of reward points when i'm booking the hotel through these reward points
Is 1 mile = 1 rupee or how does that calculation work?

Right now I have hdfc infinia and they have a smart buy portal which makes redemption of points very easy.... How easy is the axis portal?

Lastly I have annual spends of around 15 Lacs+ so should I go for HDFC Infinia or Axis magnus considering the above factors?

Can someone shed some light in this topic? Which are the airlines offering the most value for miles ... which redemption option should one choose since so many are available?
There's no guide for it.

It highly depends on where you're based and where you wanna fly to, even the season matters as airlines might not fly during certain seasons to certain destinations or they decrease the number of flights. Good example below with Vistara and Leh.

Point being, you'll need to see which airlines you have available and then focus your research on those. Probably the easiest way would be to find revenue tickets for the award you want and see if the airlines available matches any of the transfer partners of Axis.

You can also use something like flightconnections.com to look for airlines flying specific routes or possible itineraries.

If you were looking at Raipur on Vistara you'll always need to fly to Delhi to go anywhere.

Maybe with Air India (via United) you'll have better luck but seems like AI from Raipur they only fly to Mumbai and Visakhapatnam.

Plus side here with United is that you can combine Air India and Vistara flights with United.

For example Raipur-Delhi is only served by Vistara and not Air India.
Whereas Delhi-Leh is only being flow mostly by Air India and not Vistara (Vistara has flights to Leh on winter but they're very limited 2x a week, Air India has daily flights to/from Leh on several different routes like via Sri Nagar, Delhi, Jammu).

The downside is that it is costly. Probably Raipur to Leh on Vistara would cost you less than 10k points but with United (booked on Vistara+AI) in the same dates I was looking at it costed 22k points.

For some redemptions like Raipur-Goa on both Vistara and AI might be a bad redemption. Yes it will be nearly free with points but you're getting poor value out of them and having to connect flights. I'd save the points for some other time.

Thank you again !!!
I think if I look from a overall perspective Axis magnus offered good benefits if I can meet the target of 1L spends in a month.. It's better than infinia now... I could not find my queries regarding airmiles on youtube but by this discussion I could understand a lot of it so thank you... Are you familiar with any discord groups where such topics are discussed so please let me know.
Gonna apply for axis magnus !!!

No.

Frequent flyer programs in India aren't very popular in India specially if your looking to fly domestically.

With Air India, Air Asia and Vistara mergers it will be like a monopoly.

There isn't even that many FFP for domestic flyers and there's very few forums or places with information on them. And if there's any they have very little activity and information on them, usually outdated.

If if someone wanted to create content it will probably focus on the international awards (and nearly all foreign airlines) as domestically there's not much to discover.

You can try your luck here

yeah the other major airline in india apart from the above mentioned is Indigo which does not offer anything related to FPP.. but still we can use our points in airbooking or we can save it and fund one international trip as they also offer turkish, ethihad and qatar.

let me know your thoughts !

You can actually book hotels, cruises, car rentals, events and others via United. Same goes for other airlines. Even outright buying shopping vouchers or items.

Some offer decent redemptions on useless luxury items like bags or clothing compared to their retail price, but I do not think they'll ship it to India.

Some cruises offer decent value as well, some are within the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, Southeast Asia areas, with some departing or arriving to ports like Mumbai.

I'll see if I create a discord.
But some items like watches, certain electronics can probably attract around 1rs per point on United. But you'll need to see how to get those items shipped to India and how to deal with customs unless someone brings them with them in person.

Hey, I recently saw Card Academy’s recent video where it said we do get 12ER on every ₹200 spent on fuel Is this correct? I thought fuel spends are only counted towards the 1 lakh milestone. Can anyone please confirm?
