AXIS MAGNUS QUERIES

TF Select
As per calculations, Axis magnus gives you 12 reward points for every 200 spends which makes around 6000 reward points for every 1L spend and bonus of 25000 reward points are given which makes total reward points 31k.
As per reward points to reward miles conversion ratio, It is .8 per 1 points = 24,800 miles so can someone give a brief about what is the value of reward mile when you're booking a ticket. In the city I live in major market share is indigo and I travel the most by indigo so will axis magnus give a chance to book indigo tickets?
Also since they also give out reward points for ITC and marriott hotels what is the value of reward points when i'm booking the hotel through these reward points
Is 1 mile = 1 rupee or how does that calculation work?

Right now I have hdfc infinia and they have a smart buy portal which makes redemption of points very easy.... How easy is the axis portal?

Lastly I have annual spends of around 15 Lacs+ so should I go for HDFC Infinia or Axis magnus considering the above factors?

For some reason I am unable to view any reward points for my transaction. Not in my internet banking, my Axis app, my statement, or anywhere else. When I am trying to register to the Edge reward portal it says user does not exist in lms customer portal and if I try to enable customer Id it says already in use 🥲.

After a 40 minute long customer care call, they said they have raised a request and were rather clueless about what is happening.

In my App its showing “App Login Authentication Failed. Login Again”

Does anyone understand what is happening??

Some are getting but there is no official information available in their website about it.

Earn 12 Axis eDGE Reward Points on spends of every Rs. 200.

They mentioned only this on their website without any further TnCs for earning eDGE reward points.

Even I got reward points for fuel but can't confirm whether I'm lucky or due to some bug.

I can say, try small amount at some XYZ fuel station and if you got the eDGE reward points, do use same station until they fix it or update their website page.

this is the official tncs for earning eDGE reward points (https://edgerewards.axisbank.co.in/lms/terms-conditions)

  • All the spends done under the Program purview shall be eligible to earn EDGE REWARD points except what will be excluded by Axis Bank from time to time. Presently such exceptions include:
     o Balance transfers
     o Cash advances
     o Any onus transactions
o Financial charges (e.g; late payment fee, dishonoured cheque charges, service fee, transaction charges)
     o Disputed transactions
o Any purchases made at petrol pumps/ service stations
o Payment of enrolment fee for the program (If any)
  • Time to time they updated this list with different categories and excluded some cards etc. mentioned in Annexure A in above URL.
I have several fuel trasactions. None of them got reward points.

Please give me proper reply so i can properly use magnus…is axis gyftr is subpart of axis grab deals? Please answer to get well informed decision while buying…

This article gives guide to spending on reward miles but my query is regarding suppose I have 1L reward points ... which conversion options should i opt to maximise my returns ( ex whether to opt for krisflyer miles or united airmiles or mariott bonvoy)
If there are any threads related to that Please share the link
Thank you !

Depends entirely on what drives you, right?
Do you want to fly domestic, intl, economy, business class, ... where you want to go, where you want to stay, whether you love eating, whether you have hotels in your city and can use points to eat over there (if you love eating). there is no one thread for that... you have to keep hunting for info

You can actually book hotels, cruises, car rentals, events and others via United. Same goes for other airlines. Even outright buying shopping vouchers or items.

https://www.united.com/ual/en/us/fly/mileageplus/awards.html
Some offer decent redemptions on useless luxury items like bags or clothing compared to their retail price, but I do not think they'll ship it to India.

Some sunset cruises offer decent value as well, some are within the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, Southeast Asia areas, with some departing or arriving to ports like Mumbai.

Yes they have many decent offer but shipping to India is a main concern..

The problem isn't these loyalty programs or shipping, the problem IS Indian customs.

Most websites and businesses don't ship to India because it is considered high risk.

This is mainly due to shipments often getting seized (forbidden, no permit, customs officer didn't feel like it), abandoned (sky high taxes, where ~100%+ tax isn't uncommon) or stuck due to receivers being unable to produce updated KYC documents (address and name must match),permits, letters, licenses, etc as per required.

Indian customers are tough to deal with. They will complain and cause headaches like filing for refunds/chargebacks, leaving bad reviews, ask for help with customs (outside their hands and scope), among a plethora of things.

They didn't bother to check anything before ordering and don't want to be accountable for the monetary loss which is rightly their responsibility.
Also often customs charging as much as they like, with used items or promotional items sometimes being taxed on MSRP cost here in India which makes taxes be multiple times the value of the item you ordered.

I've imported things to Brazil, Chile, Colombia, US, Mexico, Panama, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and while I might incurred in some paperwork or taxes it has never been even close to the hilariously ridiculous fees charged by Indian customs based on their whim, and the documents requested by them which sometimes even shippers like DHL don't even know what they are or it isn't clear what is required on them. I've had to write letters to the head of customs for silly things like declaring certain item is for personal use, that it isn't dangerous, clarifying what it is and does, providing additional documentation, etc. And whenever that happens I often get punished with unfair rates of a ~100%+.

Also plenty of times my packages have been opened even when the contents were accurately declared and obvious like a simple cable but they still proceed to open them and even lose parts or damage the goods.

The irony is there's shippers and shipping methods that goes by the bulk like mail that goes through often without any taxes, as long as the items are declared low value, they are small packages and subtle like: a repackaged watch being passed as watch parts or as a watch bracelet while being an actual luxury watch. This is however risky as it is more likely to get lost or stolen, and it won't be covered by the shipping insurance or shipper. And if caught by customs/authorities I can only wish they have mercy on you because even if you're in the right... Well you're not! I've heard of people often bribing customs officers, but I believe that even lawyering up when you're right won't possibly help, it might even make things worse.

This is the India we live in.
