Axis Scam Group - Spam in freetime

I received a call today from +91 7379535391 claiming to be from Axis Bank and informing me that I had a voucher up for redemption. I already knew where this was going but wanted to know how normal people easily fall into this trap. I disabled my credit cards while on call with them. To my surprise, they knew my name, PAN, first 8 digits of my credit card and how many credit cards I hold with Axis. They sent me an OTP after which I confronted them and got blocked. Axis seriously has an employee somewhere leaking their records outside.

I urge everyone here reading this post to feel free to call and spam these guys whenever you have free time.

Here is the recent incident which i have faced.I have received Call from Guy claiming to be from Citibank saying that they can increase my credit limit. He
confirmed some details of mine however i was finicky since call originated from Mobile number not a toll free or standard landline.I decided to play along
and asked how much will LE be and he informed how much ever u desire it will be done since you are vintage customer ,this raised a redflag and next line
was nail in coffin "Please install Anydesk and open citimobile to raise the request".I quickly asked why would citi need anydesk (3rd party) for CLI.He raised
his voice to which i informed to connect to his supervisor.Call disconnected.

We really have to be vigilant to safeguard our privacy.

@drsel Of course. No one will call to help redeem. Actually most points are never redeemed. That's how they make money. It a very fascinating topic in game theory. Even rich participate because they see it as winning a game.

@ccdc last 4 digit is how they confirm your identity. Even if you start a web chat they will ask for last 4 digit of dc/cc/account no . That is normal. But issue is when I informed axis cc , they were very casual about it.

No it is the exact same no. 1860 419 5555. He was so cocky about it." Please check this is the official no. Now give me this details." It's still in my call log.

Normally they use personal no. But I have reCeived call from this no thrice. Last one in 4th September.
There is nothing fancy about this. You can use your own number as calling number to your own number! hehe, it's all possible using spoofing software, Only thing is you will incur ISD charges. This is is very old trick.

This is for anyone who receives such calls, tell them you have closed your card a week back and don't have access to it anymore. They can't really ask for much more.
A simple "sorry not interested, this is a do not disturb number" works for me all the time.

Don't waste your time talking to them and don't get stressed over it, it's no big deal.
The more you talk, the more stress you will get, trying to explain anything.

Same here but with ICICI, told me you are using ICICI Sapphiro Card, it will become paid if u won't follow the instructed steps, sent an apk file on whatsapp to install to make Sapphiro LTF, contrary to that it was already LTF in alumni offer. Had an heated exchange of "unparliamentary words" and that's it.
One thing he told me though, that do whatever you can even go to police, nothing will happen, the sheer level of confidence he had, made me think that here anybody can go above law specially in case of cyberfrauds.
If police wants they can hunt these gangs in seconds, I repeat seconds but there's no incentive to do so. They send the looted money all the way till IG rank officers.

Yeah... Why waste your time and energy on scamsters... One might give some information by mistake

For what reason will one complaint... That they are from bank??? What if they prove that they are from agency hired by bank? Untill a person falls in the trap, one should remain to stay away from the soup.
