To be fair, they aren't even wrong. Several not-so-preminum debit cards also have lounge access.
yes millenina dc gives 8 accesses per year
Many people are caught unaware at the lounge when their cards are not accepted anymore resulting in arguments and serpentine queues

Why number of lounges are not increasing compared to increasing users?

Right now overcrowded lounges are aptly comparable to the phrase for public toilets..

This is a 2 way game:
People are dumb enough, not to know whether card is accepted or not.. but at the same time, the Lounge people too do not help.
When I visited Delhi T2 lounge, there were atleast 20 people ahead of me.. all with Regalia in their hands 😒
The manager/receptionist could have told everyone that Regalia doesn't give entry in T2's encalm, but that guy was calmly scanning everyone's regalia and was telling "it's not free"
I went ahead and shouted "only Infinia and DCP/DCB are accepted in this lounge... Regalia and HDFC Debit cards are not" after which, all 20 people left the queue and I got the entry within seconds via PP 🤣
When I checked with the senior management, they said "they do not have approvals for using actual card names (which can show which all cards are accepted)".. seemed dumb enough but I was not in a mood to take up a quarrel with them by explaining how Bangalore/Mumbai lounges are able to do that without any issues xD

That's strange. HDFC website states it under eligible lounge access on their website.

You should probably copyright it before Encalm opens new branches under that name
They must have modified the list (you can see Last updated on 1st May 2023 in the doc)
I am talking about Feb'23 when Regalia only had T1 and T3 (not T2), I remember this as I checked the list before shouting 🤣
