Few flats in our apartment already has the same brand but a lower tier model.
Their feedback about those models was this:
- Cleaning dust/vacuum is very good, like 95% good
- Mopping has been not so good, so mostly they're not using it at all. (All their models are having mop pads, which the robot will just drag and send some water into it.)
- Their major complaint is that they have to clean the robot daily, around 15-20mins easily daily (None of their robots have auto-clean functionality)
So based on this feedback, and online reviews I have finalized 2 brands first.
Ecovacs and dreame.
Ecovacs has a service centre in our hometown and Dreame doesn't have one, so decided to go with Ecovacs.
Then when it came to deciding the model, based on feedback from our neighbours, me along with my mom decided that these features are must have along with all the commonly offered ones
- It needs to have moppers (which will rotate), not moppads.
- Auto-clean functionality
- Clean our entire house in a single charge
- Self clean moppers and dry them
Even decent ones with good suction power and without moppers is coming out to be around 30-40K range, so decided to go for a bit higher range thinking of the future. So based on these and price points, decided to go with Ecovacs Deebot N30 Omni Pro. It even handles corners well, because the moppers can independently move out, so it can reach most corners better than older models. Object detection has become better with time it seems.
