It appears that ICICI is gaining popularity, but is it solely due to increased usage or is it genuinely superior?

I think we need a more sophisticated voting system to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the preferences.

It used to be superior before IDFC redeveloped their app. Now IDFC comes on top followed by ICICI.

You are exactly nailed it. ICICI app is leading due to more number of users. ICICI app is very very slow and lethargical. It doesn't have many facilities like IPO applications etc

I have tried all PSUs and major Private banks.

HDFC is worst banking app in India..

Feel like abusing these bunch of people. Either they don't know what UI is, or are clueless about apps in general.

Hdfc is probably worst of the bunch

For hdfc app means application ... In written mailed to chennai like wtf

Incorrect email address on card, you need to write a letter

didn't get a card write a letter, idk which generation these people are in

You can't even set card monthly limit on the app, icici makes it so easy
Upgrade card limit button in app only exists for show it just says sorry something went wrong

Hdfc app is decluttered and very basic and gets the job done that's true and would generally work when you want to see your account balance or last 2-3 weeks statement but that's about all it does 😛 even for seeing more transactions it'll redirect you to pdf or NetBanking

I guess people are not voting for Axis 🪓 because of the hatred, else Axis Bank is a better application overall.

Axis bank's application may be better but what about Axis Bank users and Investors both are crying for one reason or another

In ICICI iMobile app, you can place an account closure requet online without having to fill any form or visit any branch.
You can simply close your SB account just with the click of few steps. I think that is a great progress. Many other banks need branch visit to close account.

Yes, one doesn't use the app after account is closed.
But what I meant was - this facility is available in the app. whereas for many leading banks, there is no online account closure facility.

[corner case - If one retains the credit cards alone, without account, they can still use the app to track the card usage, upgrade offers, applying add-on cards etc]
