  • HDFC : Milestone benefits only ✅
  • HSBC Cashback: 0% ✅
  • AMEX Gold Charge: 1 MR/50 + Milestone benefits ✅
  • AMEX SmartEarn/ MRCC: Milestone benefits only ✅
  • AU Zenith: Milestone benefits only ✅
  • AU Zenith+: 1% + Milestone benefits ✅
  • ICICI APay: 1% ✅
  • SC Smart: 2% ✅
  • SC Ultimate: 2% (Govt. transaction)
Note: Mostly other cards from same bank works with varied reward rate and similar rule of exclusion.

Tip: IDFC, IndusInd, BOB provides better rewards using payzapp like prepaid card load (MCC: wallet) which you can use to pay NPS compared to direct payment where you'll get from 0.25% to 0.8% only on these cards.

For NPS payments MCC: 9399 (Govt. Services)

Do check both payment gateways Razorpay and Billdesk (above values are according to Billdesk gateway).

Also, do share missing cards rewards that you tried, will update accordingly.

PG Charges (with GST) on NPS website/app:
  • VISA, Mastercard & AMEX = 0.885% (0.75% + GST)
Note: Above are for TIER 1. TIER 2 disabled credit card payments (based on latest available options).

If in doubt, always try test transaction and confirm with support. Things may chage any time, proceed with caution.

do test transaction and let us know whether you're still getting or not.

I did a test transaction and it was included in the 5% additional cashback though the transaction is still not reflecting in NPS contributions. Maybe they take some time.
So, AU lit would be the best for NPS i giess

Great test, so AU is still rewarding on Government spends, even though they are writing about exclusions.

This was effective 1st April it says. Do have to be cautious every time you do the transaction, au may update the system anytime.
Yeah, even i was worried about it. Maybe this doesn't affect LIT cashback feature as it is paid feature. I didn't try utilities though, but i think those also are included for 5% cb feature as someone else confirmed about utilities. You dont get any reward points though.

SBI simply save have any rewards?

I have these cards, which shall I use and does changing the gateway(billdesk vs razorpay) makes any difference?

  • SBI Cashback/SimplyClick
  • Axis Airtel
  • ICICI Sapphiro/Amazon Pay
  • IDFC Wealth/Select(closure request generated)
Apay is fine for 1% but others won't give any rewards. Also you will be charged 0.9% for paying via cc.
How much you have to pay for nps? 50k or more.

Yes 50k only, yes I am aware of the 0.9% charge, but it is fine till it is getting offset with the rewards, I was thinking to pay using Axis Airtel as that will help me reach the yearly milestone for fee wavier alongside 1% CB.

Axis Airtel won't give any rewards afaik since it's govt spend.

I can suggest Simply if you plan to spend 2L in a year and if you value/use of those Clrtrp/Ytra vouchers.

50k from NPS + 1.5L from other purchases.

Overall return: 2% + Fee waiver + anything card provides 0.25%

Airtl: Actually 0% but based on your shared link 1% (anycase do test transaction) = 1%
APay: 1%

Just made the payment using APay, SimplyClick I have very minimal usage, so won't be reaching the milestones, plus I get fees waived off each year by contacting customer care, though it is not LTF, it's there just for SBI card offers.
