@TheGuy @devarshi84 SC Super Value Titanium is no longer issued. I tried from 3 different profiles (1 salaried, 2 self-employed) in 2022 and was turn down within minutes for all 3. I found this Paisabazaar article later -

From https://www.paisabazaar.com/standar...-chartered-super-value-titanium-credit-cards/ -
I am getting it as a pre approved upgrade on my existing PR card along with this offer. 100% CB upto 1500 is not a bad deal.

Any idea whether this card gives 5% CB on any merchant with Utility MCC or only selected merchants? Same for Phone bills ..how is the CB calculated?

The simple T&Cs were the main reason I got attracted to it though I can't comment definitively since I never got one. I would assume it would work with any utility provider's payment system (not PayTM, Amazon, Google Pay etc).

^^^ Got the answer to my questions.

For receiving 5% cashback on utility and telephone bills, the minimum transaction amount should be INR 750, and the utility and telephone bill should be paid through the Billpay platform of Standard Chartered by logging onto online banking and visiting ‘Bill Payments’ to register.

So it will not work on any other merchant.

svt:

max. 4000 fuel = 4% cashback + 1% surcharge = 160

utility and phone(read as post paid) bills, min. 750

= 5% cashback = 300 (100+200)

but generally one can use 100. phone bills no use, unless ok with 750.

per month. 6000
cashback. 260

year. 72000 need to spend extra 18k to get waiver or pay 885 fee.

note: above only if you maximize those limits every month x 12 months.

another thing to note:

min. cashback for redemption 1500.

Slightly off topic.
If we take Card EMI offer on any bank card, will it closes the door for card upgrade till the time EMI is active ?
Or there are better chances of card upgrade + EMI can be transferred to the upgraded card?

@TechnoFino @SSV and experts please suggest.
Personally, I am not in favour of EMI but unfortunately banks are giving more discounts on Emi's on many products either as no cost emi or cash backs which covers emi interests. Not able to find any topic for same.
So what is the impact of EMI on credit card upgrades ?

Cons:

- Have to pay every month until EMI completes
- Have to bear Processing Fee, GST on EMI every month until EMI completes
- Missing any payments (major desire for banks) attracts interest on outstanding amount
- No reward points (for most of the banks)

Pros:

- Able to get the desire product in small equal installments rather large settlement
Based on discount it may or maynot beneficial to end user when availing the product on EMI.

No Cost EMI: PF + GST on EMI Interest have to pay extra which must be less than discount they offered.

Interest based EMI: PF + Interest on EMI + GST on EMI Interest have to pay extra which must be less than discount they offered.

Then only its beneficial.

Again, keep in mind that have to pay every month until it completes (some prefer peaceful night so they pay at once but others it might ok to pay every month), it works as long as they pay, if anycase misses single payment then whole credit card game starts.

Thanks for detailed explanation that's helpful.
My question is different. Let me ask in a different way. If I take an EMI on any core card say Diners Black for 24 months, will it impact the card upgrade to infinia in future or I need to use any floater card for EMI ?
And can the EMI be transferred to upgraded card which is infinia in this case ?

btw, 24 months EMI never be positive in anyway. It maybe just example, but >6 never preferred to get +ve %.

Hi ,

I was visiting this forum for some information on Rent Payment. The post/table mentions 2.5% reward for rental payment via Yes Private Credit card. But when i visited the website, i found this mentioned "Minimum 1% of transaction value or Rs 1 whichever is higher will be levied on all Rental and Wallet transactions greater than Rs 1. Please note that rental transactions are capped at 3 per 30 days period and Rental spends do not accrue any reward points."

Request you to kindly make the correction.
