Now that paytm fastag is shutdown, what are good choices for fastag?

The wallet + fastag combined offering from paytm was really good. Is there any other option like that?

So we need to add money to wallet balance, and then transfer it to “tag balance”? Or does the money get deducted from wallet balance for each tag automatically?

See I haven't tried out that functionality yet so can't say for sure. Transferring manually should work though I have doubts on automatic deduction. Maybe someone else can clarify on that!
FYI you can setup autopay mandate via their website through UPI, so if the balance goes below a threshold amount it will automatically recharge the tag with the input amount.
Last but not the least there's a low balance alert (you can enable in mobile app) which notifies you once the balance falls below ₹100!

I’m not able to recharge fastags using CCs via CRED and Amazon Pay also (shows only Amazon Pay UPI option)

Park+ (currently running 10% cb upto ₹100 for OneCard CC) OR you can recharge using Rupay CC via UPI through Paytm.

Yes,your understanding is correct.
Paytm fastag will work as usual.
There might be some loading issues for few weeks if restriction comes from 15th March & till the time Axis is setup as nodal.

I checked the app after posting that and it said I won't be able to load money after 15th (I expected that they'd just switch to something else on backend), so deleted the comment.

Yes, it seems axis is going to get set up as nodal.

FASTag issuance fee of ₹100 is non-refundable.

PayTm fastag will continue to work even after March 15th...
Mostly the depositing into fastag issue will also be fixed soon, hopefully within next week...

Same issue. Called them last week and they say not possible. Suggesting to close one tag and apply inside other tag login.

As per the current update, you wouldn’t be able to add money to your Paytm FASTag after 15th March 2024. If Paytm can do anything to fix that, that’s yet to be seen (although the chances seem slim because NHAI has removed Paytm as an authorized FASTag issuer, plus it’s pretty short notice)
