Looking to buy Ipad Pro costing 1.2lakh. Not much difference between US rates (Post tax) and Indian rates. (10k difference only) so thinking to buy in India only.

Got couple of cards - Axis Magnus, HDFC diners black, HDFC Millennia, ICICI Sapphiro, ICICI Amazon Pay, Amex MRCC.

What are ways to maximize points/cashback?
1. Buy 50k Amazon shopping voucher via Magnus and 15k Amazon Shopping voucher via HDFC Diners black and pay rest with Axis Magnus to reach 1lakh milestone
2. Any offer on AMEX MRCC or Millennia?
3. Any other offer?

Following.

There is also an instant bank discount on HDFC cards (4k I believe for Ipad pro) - Not sure if that will be applicable after applying all these vouchers, but may help bump up the reward rate.

Right. Use the cards that you always prefer and buy Amazon shopping and gift vouchers to the max.

If you otherwise won't cross monthly Milestone of magnus from other expenses then keep 1 lakh less in vouchers else use dl vouchers to the max.

See, I hold Infinia so I will tell you my process of buying a 2 lakh product from Amazon.

Accumulate Amazon shopping vouchers every month as much as you can. Gfytr gives me 16.5% value back on purchase of Rs 45000 Amazon shopping vouchers in one go on infinia.

I can purchase rs90000 vouchers per month because after that excellerated reward points won't be given in infinia.

So in 3 months, I Wil have Rs 2.7 lakh Amazon shopping vouchers.

Anything I purchase now on Amazon using these vouchers will give me 16.5% base rewards.

If you can get higher rewards on other cards like converting base rewards to airline/hotels then that is extra bonus.

Now further, if you have a business then show the purchase as business expense to get deduction in taxable income.

Even further, sell the product at 30% cost value after 5 years to make some profit out of it.

Is there a total limit for Amazon shopping vouchers per month or at a time?

Reward points accumulated on Infinia/Dinners can be used to buy apply products on smartbuy. I have 35k points. When I go to buy iPhone 14 I am getting flat 35k discount by using my reward points.
Ok. I though its only for infinia. From imagine tresor .. right?
And for rest of the amount, we will get accelerated 5x RPs as well.
Overall seems good too rather than going for Amazon vouchers which gives 3x RPs only for DCB.
But upper cap of using 70K Reward points in one transaction can be the only issue here right?

Is there a total limit for Amazon shopping vouchers per month or at a time?
No limit as such but for the accelerated rewards on infinia card, per day limit is 7500 points i.e. Rs 45000 amazon shopping vouchers.
Per month limit for accelerated points is 15000 points which means max benefit is on Rs90000 vouchers.

@cardoptimizer there are 2 other options for buying iPad pro
1) via smartbuy imagine online store. The price is more compared to amazon + there is no exchange offer on imagine store.
2) redeem HDFC points against 70% cost of iPad. The smartbuy apple catalog is limited and your required model may not be available. However if it is available and you have the points to redeem then its best option because for the rest of 30% cost, you will again get 5X rewards.

To summarize if the device is available for 1.2 lakh on Amazon, Imagine and Smartbuy then:
1) Redeem existing points on HDFC infinia (70% via points and 30% money, on 30% money, you again get 15% rewards with a cap of 7500 points per day) = Your cost Rs30,600
2) Buy using amazon shopping vouchers on amazon (Flat 16.5% rewards) = Your cost Rs100,200
3) Buy from imagine store after browsing to it via smartbuy link (Rs4000 discount + 15% rewards with a cap of 7500 points per day) = Your cost Rs108,500

Yes the Imagine Tersor through Smartbuy. I assumed that if it’s for Infinia it would be for Diners as well. There might be some limitations. Not very sure about those. Just thought it would be a good idea so shared.

Just one addition here - Imagine store via smartbuy, you can also buy on no cost EMI. In that way daily cap of 7500 points can be overcome. However, there will be an additional GST component on the interest that will be applicable, but is net off by the 5x points.

There is daily redeem limit as well on HDFC cc now. Which is 70K for Infinia and DCB.
That is why I always use Amazon shopping vouchers as the best clean option. No fuss.
Use the points elsewhere like travel/hotel or you like.

@cardoptimizer , I don't have Axis magnus so you will need to calculate how much will you get as reward by using it.
I can tell you that with Infinia card, I will get 16.5% reward rate via amazon shopping voucher along with option to choose my device as per my requirement and option to exchange old device if required.

Magnus gives 24% miles/hotel transfer on Amazon shopping voucher of 5x

10k voucher = 10000/200=50*12ER=600ER=600*5xER=3000 accelerated ER = 3000x0.8=2400 airmiles/hotel transfer.

That is like one 5Star hotel buffet free(~2400), ITC for example with 10K amazon shopping voucher buying using Magnus.
