A tip..
If you're not planning to record in 4k..

You may consider buying lower storage options.

Tbh with apple, you should always go for the higher storage variant. You never know when your safari might go crazy and stop deleting cache and as a result you end up with 80%+ of your storage being taken up by that shit browser. Add the lunacy of not having a way to clear cache for apps manually in iOS and then either you need to reset your phone or you need to wait for an update to get that storage back.

If you want to register big " international transaction" , you could go for this.. However, you need to choose 0 Markup fee card.

otherwise ask him to buy using his card only. Ask him to look for offers there..
Not sure about Canada.., Apple will have some tie up with major stores there.

Dont use your credit card to buy, you might end up paying FCY charges+GST. There is additional state tax you need to pay. Ask him to buy using his card and pay to his indian account as per the conversion rate.

I dont think you will get any offers for the latest launches atleast till the holiday season. But if you have older iPhone devices there is a tradein program, not sure its applicable for unlocked devices.
