Best way to redeeem Magnus Edge reward points

curious

TF Buzz
Hi Guys, I've applied for Magnus and got it in Jan 1st week, 23. Till now, I've accumulated decent number of ER points. As someone who is never into airmiles and hotel loyalty points, which redemption options (5:4) are best in terms of value and simplicity for a beginner?

It might seem daunting at first but you ll get used to it with time. The problem or the cons of transfer to an airmile partner is that generally every airline has their own air miles program. So you ll have to create a membership with them if you don’t have one already.

Having said that some good ones are krisflyer - Singapore airlines, Qatar, etihad and vistara. Vistara CV points can be transferred to krisflyer as well so do check that if you are looking to transfer to either one of those.

So, in short, as you can see from above having so many options for airmilies it becomes a bit complicated and time consuming to choose and book.
You mentioned, "Vistara CV points can be transferred to krisflyer", can you share the link? I tried finding the link but couldn't find any.

Can someone with club itc membership check how many points it will take to book a room in the following hotels in Bengaluru?

ITC Windsor
Welcomhotels by ITC
Fortune Park JP celestial.

What is the process to get some what higher room? Do we have to book lowest first and upgrade by paying extra or not at all allowed with points?
As I said in an above comment, while making a points booking at Marriott, it is seldom that you ll see options to book different category of rooms. It is usually only 1 type of room that’s offered not necessarily the base category but any category room could be offered.

Paying extra for an upgrade is something you can ask the Marriott helpline, I have no experience of doing this.

Also, if you are or could achieve gold elite or higher with Marriott, upgrades will be easy to come by along with many other benefits.

Club Vistara for domestic airlines and ITC for hotel redemptions seem to be the better options of the lot for beginners in terms of simplicity and value. Am I right or missing any others?

Is there club vistara offer going on right now where we can get 30% extra bonus points ?
You have to register for this pls

Exactly those are much transparent for a beginner

Well, there are numerous transfer partners available for both hotels and airlines. You could go for options that suit you the most. My personal favourite is Marriott. It gives you an option to book from their 6500 plus hotels worldwide across all Marriott associated brands.
Also, when we book for 5 nights through points Marriott charges for only 4 nights, so that’s another added benefit.
Value of points while booking Marriott varies a lot but be sure that you ll be able to extract at least 65paise per point and sometimes even Rs. 1.8-2.4 per point depending on the supply and demand at the property.
P.S. to further enhance the value of the points you can first transfer 75k points at 5:4 to ITC. Then transfer these ITC 60k points to Marriott at 2:3. You ll get 90k points in Marriott. So, in a nutshell for 75k edge reward points you ll get 90k Marriott bonvoy.

It’s important to note the following:
1) while edge rewards to Marriott is an instant transfer; edge rewards to ITC is time consuming (10+days from axis to ITC and 5+days from ITC to Marriott.
2) you can only transfer 60k points from itc to Marriott in an year.
3) please keep in mind that Marriott bookings through points are room and Wi-Fi only rates. No meals are included.

Hope this helps🙂
do we have any room with points less than 20k i can see all above 20k

Hello Everyone, new to the air miles game and have just started using Axis Magnus since this month and have spend over 1 lacs and got around 5K points, was thinking to transfer these to some air miles program and while transferring observered that it was showing same transfer value for Club Vistara, Krismyles and even SpiceJet.

But have read multiple times in the forum that only Club Vistara has better redemption value, but for me it shows same number of miles for all 3, so is it something that the value of the miles in particular airmiles program would be different like for vistara 1 CV = 1 Re. while for Krisflyer 1 KFM = something less than 1 Re.? The discussion in forum implies that the vistara points are better valued - when you try to book tickets from the miles.

You get same airmiles for all partners, in the ratio of 5 ER : 4 partner points.

Does Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru, Whitefield provide breakfast when booked via Marriot convoy points. Its costing 7000 points. So if i trf from ITC 3500 to marriot i will get 7000 marriot points (2:1). How to get the breakfast free

ITC to Marriott transfer is in the ratio of 2:3.
I.e 2 ITC Green points equals 3 Marriott Bonvoy points

Usually points redemption in india I’ve seen includes breakfast though it doesn’t expressly mention that. I’ve always received breakfast complimentary on points redemption.

Yes I usually confirm at the time of check in that breakfast is included. Till recently I was a Marriott Gold member btw. I’m sure that helped.

Regarding transfer from itc to Marriott - I’m not sure how to do it online. Maybe try calling them. ITC online always sucks. I’ve always transferred Amex to Marriott directly. Keep us posted how you manage to transfer.
