Best way to redeeem Magnus Edge reward points

curious

TF Buzz
Hi Guys, I've applied for Magnus and got it in Jan 1st week, 23. Till now, I've accumulated decent number of ER points. As someone who is never into airmiles and hotel loyalty points, which redemption options (5:4) are best in terms of value and simplicity for a beginner?

Does Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru, Whitefield provide breakfast when booked via Marriot convoy points. Its costing 7000 points. So if i trf from ITC 3500 to marriot i will get 7000 marriot points (2:1). How to get the breakfast free

You should call and ask. Without status - usually Platinum/Titanium breakfast will not be included. It's never "free". 🙂

The best utilisation of Marriott points are outside India. In India, room costing 5k mostly need ~15k points however outside India like in US, 150$ room can be booked for ~10k membership points.

If anyone travelling outside, I recommends to utilise the Marriott points in hotels outside India.
India people are rich .. they are giving 10k-20k .. for hotel rooms which is worth just 5k .. hotel owners are enjoying. ..

Yes I usually confirm at the time of check in that breakfast is included. Till recently I was a Marriott Gold member btw. I’m sure that helped.

Regarding transfer from itc to Marriott - I’m not sure how to do it online. Maybe try calling them. ITC online always sucks. I’ve always transferred Amex to Marriott directly. Keep us posted how you manage to transfer.
so Axis magus -> ITC-> Marriot looks better deal when transferring instead of magnus -> Marriot

Which transfer partner of Axis bank is most "versatile" ? (I mean, a transfer partner which allows further transfer to multiple other airmiles/hotel points)
For example, I want to transfer my Edge Rewards points, but not to CV points since (correct me if I am wrong) we can't transfer CV points back to ITC/Marriott. So, in this case I would rather transfer my ER points to Club ITC and then take it from there. But certainly, I feel it's safer to not have ER points sitting idle (so as to avoid any eventual devaluation of ER points) What do you think? And please suggest other versatile transfer partner options. Thanks in advance 🙂

Isn't it depends on our travel requirement?

Correct me even if I say one transfer partner which allows you to transfer 7 different partners, but none of those properties/airlines covers or need for your travel plan, then its useless to store points there, right?

If a person has only domestic travel planned in coming year then even though not much further transfers CV is the best option because teansfering to international airlines (which you maybe further transfer to multiple other international airlines based on destination) doesnt serve any purpose, IMO.
True but that same versatile transfer partner (which doesn't serve the purpose if we are not going to make use of) if it allows you to transfer points to CV, then that is better than transferring to CV in the first place. Right?
If you already transfer points to CV for example, and if it doesn't allow you to further transfer points, then you'll be compelled to make use of it. You'll have fewer options to play with. So your next thought would be to might as well keep the ER points in Axis and transfer to CV whenever there's a need. But that is precisely what I want to avoid - Keeping the ER points idle. You never know when a devaluation of transfer ration happens.

Accor, Vistara, ITC are great options difficult to go wrong with. Accor also has options to transfer to flight partners, but with a 15 day transfer period.

Redeem for Krisflyer for upcoming travel to SE Asia (20k miles for BOM-SIN in economy), Turkish for Europe (30k from BOM and sometimes as low as 19k for certain cities) and United if uncertain (miles do not expire and taxes / surcharges are very low). Qatar has high taxes / surcharges but am yet to do a detailed study.

Above is from research I have been doing since rumours of devaluation.

In personal experience, I have redeemed for KF and paid 86k miles + ₹ 4.2k for 2 business class BOM-SIN and 40k miles + ₹ 7.9 for the SIN-BOM return.

Can someone please update this thread, accounting for the Sep 2023 Devaluation?

PS: Also can someone help me with the right way to create a post on technofino?

after devaluation to 5:2. i felt even amazon voucher at 5:1 is quite good as can be used as cash alternative to pay bills. i have redeemed my 25k to 5k amazon voucher and felt happy
