i would like to wait and watch because the international lounge access network on the rupay jcb card is very narrow and if and when a international lounge access programme is announced for visa network, it would be much wider. the upi feature for a premium card doesn't matter if they are not rewarded because for upi you can take any ltf card. the rupay variant is not a wellness card so no extra benefits. Visa variant will have a better international acceptability as compared to rupay variant.
i personally have a mastercard variant and will decide about the network change after the official announcement of the international lounge access programme.

Effective from January 1, 2025, you’ll need to spend a specific amount using your BOB card to qualify for free lounge access at domestic airports in India.



I’d say BOB has kept the spending requirement very reasonable. Unlike other card issuers, like ICICI Bank, which require you to spend 1 lakh to get free lounge access, BOB’s requirement is well within reach.

Relatively speaking when compared with other big banks cards, 40K per quarter is a reasonable spend limit for its UNLIMITED Domestic Lounge Access..

Very soon most of the cards will have spend limits for Lounge access.. so BOB is still relatively cheaper when compared to other Banks cards

True, I also think its healthy for both customer and bank. For premium card if rewards rate are decent then anyway people are going to spent. They are in the market to make profit, and we are here to extract benefits as much as we can (I guess indian mindset which is very good in optimizing things). So this cat and mouse will go on for some more time and then in future will favor towards bank (until unless they go kabum) or a balanced state.
