Canara Bank Manager claims MasterCard "not allowed" at branch – Is this true?

I’m trying to apply for a Canara Bank MasterCard credit card. I’ve had a savings account with them for 1 year. I visited my branch and provided my documents, but the Branch Manager told me that MasterCard variants is not available at his branch

He sent me a link to generate an OTP and is now coordinating the application via WhatsApp, but denying my request for the MasterCard WOrld CC

Quick Questions:

1. Is card availability actually restricted by branch?
2. Has anyone successfully applied for a MasterCard via the Canara ai1 app directly to bypass the branch?

Will try the other branches when i have the time 🙂

Well it is not his bank and for public. If you know that bank has mastercard variant they should provide it. Otherwise escalate to higher ups.

Canara cc process is completely offline until you have any pre approved offer.

So check with other branch.

Cananra has a strict 10L annual income criteria for this CC. Hope you satisfy the criteria. If yes, then escalate to RO
