Changes in lounge access for RSDC cards

To answer the question, NO, it is not the end of RSDC. That's it. Thanks
@cardio_guy then you being a mod, change the thread title and remove the devaluation red badge. This post is misleading from it's title itself. Newbies will come and out of fear they'll ask repetitive questions without going through the thread. Therefore I'd urge you to instruct the OP to change the title of the post to some lounge access thing. Because in my opinion this post is based on speculations & no concrete evidence/backing.

to be honest 5000 is less compared to the spending criteria for credit cards. if credit card bill payments using dc are taken in account it should be achievable.

Sure. You have pointed it out correctly.
But I don't have previlege to edit thread. Only senior mods can.

⚠️ Major Update for RuPay Select Debit Card Holders

Bank of Baroda has informed customers that effective 03-Nov-2025, NPCI has revised the complimentary domestic airport lounge access policy for all RuPay Select Debit Cards (RSDC). Now, to avail one complimentary lounge access per quarter, cardholders must spend a minimum of ₹5,000 (POS or E-commerce) in the previous quarter.

THIS WILL SURELY BE FOLLOWED BY OTHER RSDC ISSUING BANKS, SOON!
TIME TO SAY GOOD BYE TO RSDC?

💬 What this means:
🔸 This marks a major devaluation of the RSDC benefits — the card was earlier positioned as a premium lifestyle & wellness card with effortless lounge access.
🔸 Now, even RuPay Platinum offers better direct value with fewer conditions.
🔸 The move suggests that other benefits (gym, spa, OTT, etc.) may also become spend-linked in the near future, following the same trend.
🔸 What was once a “Select” card experience is now turning into a conditional benefit model, similar to entry-level variants.

💡 Takeaway:
If you hold the BoB RuPay Select Bhoomi Debit Card or any other RSDC variant — review your quarterly spends and benefit eligibility. This update signals a shift in how banks and networks may restructure lifestyle privileges around minimum spend thresholds.

Banking benefits are no longer static — they’re increasingly performance-based.
I guess only domestic lounge is now spends based and international lounge remain free within spending. Can anyone confirm this?
