Charges on Nomination Change

PNB is introducing Nomination Change Charges effective from 1st Oct 2025. I am not sure how can GOI support such loot. Nomination is one of the key thing for managing SB acc. What's your view?

Nominee change should be free. We don't change it quite often but we also don't know when we will go seperate ways in life or house for the matter

Was it not already there?
I was charged 118rs in July. It's another thing that I got it refunded. But it was there- I had checked the tnc when it was levied.

I am not sure, I found it in the PNB notification. Can you please confirm is it applicable for those changes which are being changed through Internet?

Hate this man, I can say for HDFC and SBI, there are 0 charges.

Will check Kotak & BOB today or tomorrow, hopefully it should be 0 there too.

Are you sure about it? I mean, why does the bank or any company want the fee for the simple nomination change, which is simply done by the online channels? I don't think this decision is going to last longer. By the way, in my experience, PNB and BOB are both classic examples of NAAM BADE AUR DARSHAN CHOTE.

Every Bank have certain kind of charges different from others....
(Still within framework of RBI), because of interpretation and the system...
The point you raised about nomination change charges, it is not that frequent in most of the accounts....
First time nominee addition is anyways free...

Bank of Baroda charged 206 for name correction. SBI charged 118 for ppf account transfer from sbi to sbi branch.
