CIBIL & Amazon Pay Score Check Issue – Mental Harassment & No Resolution!

I want to share my frustrating experience with CIBIL and Amazon Pay, which has caused me months of mental harassment. This post is to warn others and seek advice from those who have faced similar issues.

Background:

I had an old Amazon Pay account, which I later closed. After that, I created a new Amazon Pay account with updated details.

When I tried to check my CIBIL score through the new account, I kept getting this error:

"Your CIBIL report was already accessed using another Amazon account. Please sign in using the same Amazon account to check your CIBIL score."
Amazon Pay support escalated the case and informed me that CIBIL had stored my old Amazon account identifiers (PAN, email, mobile) in their system, preventing me from accessing my score through my new account. Amazon Pay confirmed that CIBIL needs to delete these old identifiers to resolve the issue.

CIBIL's Clueless Responses:

I raised multiple complaints with CIBIL, explaining the issue clearly. But every time, they gave me irrelevant, copy-paste responses like:

"We are currently working on the concern raised by you on request dated November 27, 2024, and will revert to you shortly."
"We have raised the issue with the concern IT team, and it will take some time for resolution."
"On observation, we could see that your amazon account authentication was failed."
"We are unable to remove old login credentials. Please contact Amazon Pay to create new credentials with a different mobile number."

This makes no sense because:
  1. The problem is NOT with login credentials—the issue is CIBIL’s duplicate account check system.
  2. I already have a new Amazon account, but I still can’t check my score because CIBIL refuses to delete old account data.
  3. Amazon Pay clearly said CIBIL is responsible, but CIBIL keeps blaming Amazon Pay.

Months of Mental Harassment & No Compensation:

  • I have been following up for months with Amazon Pay and CIBIL, but they keep bouncing me around.
  • CIBIL refuses to acknowledge the issue and keeps sending generic responses.
  • I requested compensation for the mental stress and wasted time, but they denied it without even addressing my complaint properly.

What Next?

  • I have escalated the matter to the RBI Ombudsman and demanded that CIBIL delete the old identifiers and compensate me for mental harassment.

Has Anyone Faced a Similar Issue?

If you’ve had trouble checking your CIBIL score via Amazon Pay due to an old account, let me know how you resolved it. This kind of negligence should not be tolerated!

there are other platforms as well to check your cibil report. Why not use them?

Haha, good question! 😅 Actually, I do have other ways to check my CIBIL report, but I have this habit of fixing things wherever I see mistakes or obstacles, even if they don’t directly affect me. I just like things to be clean and issue-free everywhere I use applications. It gives me peace of mind knowing that everything is working as it should! 😄

Just a suggestion.
Anyway, good luck bro. I hope they solve the issue
I’m actually planning to apply for the Amazon Pay ICICI Card, and from what I’ve heard, fetching my CIBIL score through Amazon Pay increases the chances of easy approval. That’s why I’m specifically trying to access my CIBIL score via Amazon Pay.

My application was rejected five months ago, but I’ll be eligible to apply again next month. So, over the past five months, I’ve worked on maximizing every possible chance of approval. I’ve improved my CIBIL score to 765+, increased the age of my credit history to over a year, and boosted my activity on Amazon Shopping and Amazon Pay services. Additionally, I’ve completed full KYC for my Amazon Pay wallet and actively used the ICICI iMobile app. The only thing left is fetching my CIBIL score through Amazon Pay.

That’s why resolving this issue is so important to me.

I see similar notification in Amazon when I try to fetch my cibil report from Amazon. I just leave it as it is. Don't have time and energy to make that thing in order. I do have a Apay card through. It was Pre-approved.

I think Yes, cibil check in Amazon and Amazon full kyc increases apay card approval chances.

I had absolutely no KYC with Amazon Pay, never did a CIBIL check from amazon, apart from a couple large ticket purchases (30-75K) over a period of 3 years, never did i spend more that 10K a year on amazon. Was issued the card with only 2 months of credit history (another CC). All the rituals mentioned here and they never look at those and they decide based on their mood.
Have limit of 50K on this whereas a limit of 1.5L on other cards and they don't bother with LE at all. I have spent approx 45K every month and paid off the card within 3 days of generation of the statement.

Yeah, makes sense! Since my Amazon Pay ICICI Card was rejected earlier, I’m just ensuring everything is in place before reapplying. Hoping fetching CIBIL through Amazon helps with approval this time!

Yeah, Amazon’s approval process seems pretty random at times. Some get it with minimal history, while others with strong profiles face rejection. Just trying to cover all bases to improve my chances this time!

I feel you man. Cibil (atleast Cibil India) is one of the most incompetent organisations there is. It's shocking how we trust them with our most crucial financial data, let alone letting them compute our creditworthiness!

I have faced multiple issues with them, ranging from unable to login to my cibil account for months coz they updated their login platform and that flagged my account for no reason, to having no resolution for an unknown loan account showing on my Cibil. But these incompetent people doesn't have any clue about their systems at all.

So if any advice that I could give to you is to not let these schmucks affect your mental peace; I know easier said than done but I have been there and it's just not worth it at all!

Totally agree! Their lack of accountability is frustrating, especially when it comes to something as crucial as credit history. Dealing with them feels like hitting a wall, but yeah, best not to let it get to us too much.

Same. @ajijul_93rahman Why not just use another app and move on?. When i saw the title, i thought it might be a cibil report issue.🙄

Escalating to RBI level?. Come on bro. 😅

I would suggest you to get cibil subscription. You can refresh daily.👍
Already mentioned my reason in above replies👍

Google Pay also doesn't show CIBIL when we change email id.
Yes bro. I did factory reset, then again installed Google Pay. Now its showing "CIBIL could not verify your identity,As you did not answer security questions correctly, your CIBIL score cannot be shown. This is to prevent any misuse of your credit card and loan information."

I used same credentials which was used earlier.
What should I do any idea how I can see my cibil score.....? Other than official CIBIL site....?

Same with Amazon
"Sorry, could not get your credit score.
You have exceeded maximum number of authentication attempts to check your credit score"

How to solve this any idea....?

Fetching a CIBIL report from Amazon only provides Amazon Pay offers, while ICICI conducts a hard pull from CIBIL and performs other internal checks. A good CIBIL score doesn't guarantee approval for a card or loan — there are cases where people with an 800+ score have been rejected.

I suggest opening an ICICI account and waiting for a pre-approved offer, or starting with a basic card like ICICI Platinum before applying for Amazon Pay.

I had accidentally applied and linked my dad's ICICI Apay with my Amazon account. I plan on trying to close his card(low limit) so I can apply with my ICICI limit(6L+) and link it to my Amazon account. Will I face this issue? Would it be possible?

I have a very peculiar issue with amazon credit score check. I have to put my pan number slightly wrong to get my credit score.

For example, suppose my PAN number is XXXXXX858X. I have to type XXXXXX585X to get my credit score. Otherwise it says wrong PAN number. 🤣
