The new Axis Bank credit cards look good if we consider their benefits. However, in terms of rewards, even the Axis Olympus card has many exclusions. Despite this, it is still a good card for international spending. In terms of reliability, Axis Bank doesn't come close to Citibank. This is the main reason almost all Citibank customers were very unhappy with the Citibank and Axis Bank deal earlier last year. Unfortunately, we cannot do anything but accept this migration. If you don't want to continue with your Citibank cards, you can close them; you will not be charged any renewal or migration fees at this time. Renewal fees will be levied at the usual time of your card renewal. The Citi PremierMiles and Citi Prestige cards were some of the best and most reliable for accumulating air miles. Personally, I will never rely on Axis Bank, as they can send you notices and ask for transaction clarifications from the past year, even for very small amounts.

This is the end of an era.

Edge mile is worth at least 2 rupees.
don't ever waste them in shopping

on domestic, non-accor. worth 2 rupees?

Just because accor says 1 point = 1.8rs. I don't value that much its still 1 Rs. for me. Thats how businees valued actually.

Why non Accor to begin with?
Accor even has low priced domestic hotels in India

lets say everyone has personal preferences, and moreover some travel within their budget or specific requirements or non-availability. So, be it Vistara, Accor, ITC. The value of points is based on the redemption and their preferences.

And if accor says, its room 6000/- do we actually have to agree with that or anyway to compare that value? Ex: possibly, for me same room category in nearby location area and maybe same star level, if all of them average same price, then its 6000/- Otherwise, for some if they feel its like 3000/- room but they charged 6000/-, can't consider 1 edge mile = 1.8 here, rather 1 Rs.

so, unless I redeem those points and verify

- on that date actual value on that property
- actual value I paid with points + taxes (if any)

then only it will be determined the actual value of 1 reward point "for me".

like this, I can get 1 Edge Mile = 1 Rs. or 1 Edge Mile = 3 Rs. (maybe for suites in ITC or peak times in Vistara)...

but for general assumption, Till then 1 RP = 1 Rs. for (Edge Miles), 1 RP = 0.20p for (Edge Rewards) etc.

Ok. So, miles can be used for shopping, grocery etc. it will be like those AMEX point redemption, right? Where POS auto select redeem points.

Anyway, its good they provide 1 EM = 1Rs. in these cases.
It's not on all merchants though.

Here is the thread. Most of the discussion is about edge points with 5:1 ratio. But going by the previous post where his edge miles were deducted, it seems it works for edge miles too in 1:1 ratio.

Ok. Hopefully axs implement same system like citi to redeem points on various options for edge miles too.

EazyDiner benefits in Axis Horizon has been reduced to 800 Rs which was 1000 in Citi bank. This is a big devaluation. Not sure what other Citi Benefits going to be reduced.

Citi needs minimum 4000rs. spends to get 20% whereas Axs need 2500rs. to get 25% discount.

I don't consider it as a devaluation, actually. I find it now can use more times than previous.

What do you guys recommend i to with my Citi Reward Points. I have 17900 Citi Reward Points as on today. The last day to redeem these is 6th July, post which there is a freeze on any redemption that can be done on citibank side.
I do not have any spends on my citi card so cannot redeem them for cashback at 0.35p. The only options are to let them move to Axis at 1.75 ratio which will convert 17900 Citi Reward Points to 31325 ER Points. However i do not know if these 31325 ER points can be converted into 5:4 ratio ( i have magnus 4 burgundy card).

For Axis reward cards the conversion is as below.
For Vistara, ITC, SpiceJet, airasia : 5 EDGE REWARD Points = 1 Partner Point ( will convert 31325 ER to 6265 partner points. I dont know the value of these partner points)
For Other Partners : 10 EDGE REWARD Points = 1 Partner Point (will convert 31325 ER to 3133 partner points. I dont know the value of these partner points))

The Citi Reward points can be redeemed for Amazon Vouchers at 3300 Citi Reward Points for 1000 INR. But i need to do this before 6th July.

So, what would be the best use of these points. Can these 31325 ER points be converted to 5:4 or will the buckets be different or would it be best to redeem for amazon vouchers at 0.33p?

Thanks,

use at magnus 4 burgundy, definitely you'll get more than 0.35p.

But that is what I want to know. Are the buckets the same and will it let me convert these Axis reward edge points at 5:4?
Also what is the value of the partner points in this case (6265 partner points and 3133 partner points)?

only time will tell (have to wait till month end for this, no such update officially so far).

Also what is the value of the partner points in this case (6265 partner points and 3133 partner points)?

value can only be derived from you. depends on time, category of rooms/flights, peak time etc.

ex: you can normally value 1 ITC = 1Rs. for redemption.

whereas, Vistara its difficult it value 8000 points for one sector but price on that date might be less than 8000 (in this case value <1) or more than 8000 (than value >1).

until redemption, do not assume value more than sure way 0.20p (in axs) or 0.40 (if you can extract that value at any time during redemption).

my assumption, go with 0.60p since you have m4b, but upto you.

Yea, so I am like 80% let it get converted and 20% redeem it for Amazon at 0.33p. But as you guys mentioned I think value at that time could be more than 0.20p/0.35p. I also think at worst case where 10ER=1partner point, that will leave me with 3133 partner points. Hopefully there is no further conversion when moving to other partners, ideally Krisflyer miles.
Also, I have Krisflyer miles set to expire in May25. If I move these there in Jan'25, will it extend all Krisflyer miles for 3 years more?

Axis has quietly pushed the timeline to issue new cards to Q4'2024!!

Folks who were part of the first wave for new cards pls confirm if you guys got the cards and if they have been set up.

This email was a corporate notification from our Axis Bank Corporate partners. I have not received this extended timeline in my personal email as yet. Has anyone received such confirmation?

It was Q4 from the very beginning for replacement card delivery. However, post 15th July we'll be able to see new card in the Axis mobile app and our existing citi cards will continue to work as their future versions till they get delivered. Got an email today about integration of my citi card with Axis bank customer id.

I guess I was referring to this Axis FAQ where they just mentioned H2 2024. My bad.
So axis features will be available on Citi cards post 15 July even if the card has not been updated I guess.
