Confused about Federal Bank's Multiple Credit Card Policy for Scapia Card - Existing Cardholder Query

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to apply for the Federal Bank Scapia co-branded credit card, but I'm a bit confused about the eligibility criteria for existing Federal Bank customers, especially those who already hold credit cards.

Here's my situation:
  • I have a savings account with Federal Bank.
  • I currently hold a Federal Bank Signet credit card as my primary card.
  • I also have a Rupay Wave add-on card linked to my Signet card.
I'm quite interested in the Scapia card for its travel benefits. I started the application process on the Scapia app, and it even showed a message indicating that applying would be easier for existing Federal Bank customers. However, I stopped just before the final credit inquiry step because I've read on various forums that Federal Bank supposedly has a "single credit card per customer PAN" policy. This made me wonder if holding my existing Signet + Wave cards would make me ineligible for a new, separate primary card like Scapia.

To clarify, I reached out to Scapia support via Twitter. I asked them specifically about eligibility for existing Federal Bank customers, particularly those with existing credit cards. Their response was positive – they indicated that existing Federal Bank cardholders are indeed eligible for the Scapia card.

I've attached a screenshot of my conversation with Scapia confirming this eligibility.

However, to be completely sure and understand the bank's official stance, I have also reached out to Federal Bank directly to inquire about their multiple credit card policy and confirm if someone holding my specific cards (Signet + Wave) can apply for Scapia. I'm currently waiting for their official email reply.

I'm still a bit uncertain despite Scapia's confirmation because of the conflicting info I initially saw.

My questions for the community:
  1. Has anyone here who already held a Federal Bank credit card (other than Scapia, maybe Signet, Imperio, etc.) successfully applied for and received the Federal Bank Scapia card? What was your experience like?
  2. Does Federal Bank's stated "single credit card" policy typically apply to only one primary card, or does it include all cards, including co-branded ones like Scapia?
  3. Does anyone know if the Federal Bank Scapia credit card is eligible for the general offers and promotions rolled out directly by Federal Bank (not just Scapia-specific offers)?
Any insights or experiences shared would be greatly helpful! I'll update the post once I get an official response from Federal Bank.

Thanks!

I have Celesta with 4.8L limit. I got this 6 months back.

Same exact cut-and-paste answer, "co-branded credit card policy".
I am also holding Celesta with 5L limit, got it in March this year.

When I applied scapia got rejected, till then I started following up with them. Won't stop without getting actual reason. Yesterday I escalated this to RNO.

Reasons I received so far- High Credit enquiries, max limit availabled, already having pre approved offer etc.

I got the limit of 6.21L, mailed the PNO, same exact reason, "maximum number of co-branded credit cards reached". Now I don’t understand one thing, I haven’t got any co branded federal bank card, then how can I reach the maximum number limit!

I hold celesta l, applied for scapia and straight forward rejected. The reason I got that I already hold maximum co-branded card.. however, I don't hold any co-branded card from Federal Bank. Only I hold is celesta card.

This is what they replied to me.
Mine was rejected with same copy pasted reply. I was holding Imperio with 2.4L limit. As per their email, I actively followed up over a month and got the limit on Imperio reduced to 1L. Thereafter they asked me to apply again for Scapia.
After second application, they again rejected Scapia saying that interal policy bullshit.

The higher limit is the issue for the Federal Bank? My Celesta card limit is 6.21L, and it seems like they’ll never approve my card. Do Federal Bank cards have separate limits?

What reason was quoted at the second application?

I have a FEDERAL CELESTA card for the last two years with a limit of 6.21L, but they still declined the application. They didn't ask for ITR or salary slip, nothing, just straightforward, DECLINED.
Same here, having Celesta with 10L limit but got rejections on scapia twice. Had applied in Feb-25 and Sept-25

I have Imperio with 3L limit and Rupay version as well, applied for scapia however rejected and then next day received whatsapp for approved,
Now I applied for Magni which is rejected after filling information and now it shows as pre- approved with 3L limit but not sure they will reject this with a new inquiry .

Exactly the same case with me. Hold Celesta CC with 10L limit, but rejected twice for Scapia citing maximum CL limit reached.

Its strange that they do not have any provision of shared limits.

Their reply was as below:

Upon review, you already have unsecured products from Federal Bank or through our co-branded arrangements (Credit Card/Personal Loans) where you have availed the maximum benefit based on your eligibility. As a result, we are currently unable to issue a Federal Scapia Credit Card to you.

It seems that Federal Bank is lagging behind even smaller PSU banks when it comes to technological advancements in banking.

The basic underlying problem with most of the organisations these days is that the top management or leadership team is more focused on money making or on personal gains in the form of salary, incentives etc. They do not understand that it is their prime responsibility to improve or put processes and systems in place for an efficient functioning of a company so that it serves its customers effectively.

I have seen the same attitude in some CEOs, more so recently in JB Park of Samsung India. Federal Bank is no exception.
