It shows that payment failed but amount debited from my HDFC Bank account and credited to Axis CC.

Payment due date on Axis CC is 2/Dec.

Should I pay the amount again in fear of reversal to avoid Axis charges and Cibil?

It happened with me as well. Transaction status was updated after some days. Nothing was reversed as money was debited.
If the amount is not big enough for you, you can choose to pay again.
