Hi,

I got mail from Standard Chartered bank stating “credit card payment through third-party platforms may no longer be supported” 😅.

Only payment from official app and website is allowed.

Solution
It's nothing to worry.
Previously apps used to work on IMPS NEFT method to process CC bills.

Now apps have moved to BBPS system, but SC isn't BBPS enabled that's why this email.

Apps like CheQ, Cred, Mobikwik, etc still supporting NEFT method, so you can pay bills on these apps without worrying.

Could be marked as solution.
Just curious, why people keep sc cards, I have personally found sc to be the dog shit. In terms of cc and bank account. Recently they are removing many gift card redemption options from there 360 rewards portal, which was already pathetic to begin with.
Never got Instant discounts offer as of now for which I took SC card. It is lifetime free and got two spend based offer.

5K spend for Rs. 500 Amazon voucher: redeemed ✌️.

2K spend for Re. 500 Amazon voucher: Will get in Nov 😀.

No harm in keeping LTF card. 🙃

Sc smart credit card is useful if u don't have sbi cashback cc as it also gives 2% on all online spends and 1% on offline spends except I guess only fuel

I am not sure about other cards, but I have found Smart CC to be very useful for me. It provides 2% cashback for online transactions and 1% for offline transactions, without any major exclusions. I took the card for these specific reasons and have ended up with 5K+ cashback this year, where most cards wouldn't have given any reward (NPS, school fees, wallet load).
Is cashback credited as statement balance? Also is there any cap?

No, the cashback is accumulated, and you have to redeem it as a statement balance. With some recent changes, they have made the redemption a bit difficult, as you need a minimum of 2500 cashback to redeem.

There are monthly caps on cashback: 1000 (Online spends, 2% cashback), 500 (Offline spends, 1% cashback)

The saddest part of SC bill payment is that it use bill desk and you can pay the bill amount by using only Rupay Debit Card or use net banking/UPI.
No other Debit Card is supported.

Even though it's useless, does 360 rewards portal open for anyone? Their CC platform update concluded last month, yet the rewards portal is still down everyday with a rolling commitment, saying that it's down till 11.59 PM that day, which then moves to next day 11.59 PM...

No daily they are saying it will down with that day's deadline. Not sure when will it be back.

Last month, I opened an account under the SC Premier Banking program with an initial funding of ₹15 lakh. However, I'm now regretting that decision and plan to close the account within the next two years.
