Credit Card suggestion

Hi All,

I am looking for a Credit Card(s) suggestion.

I have HDFC Infinia (currently, default for all purchases (base rewards of ~3.3%), SmartBuy, Hotels and Flights) and now would like to improve my regular/base reward rate (>3.3%) only. I am okay with Miles/Hotels redemption and milestone based cards.

I am not heavy spender and 1 card I have in mind is Atlas and can only spend 3 Lakhs on Atlas at maximum.


What cards can I look at adding to the portfolio?

You answered your own question.

You aren't a heavy spender but you already have the infinia which is targeted at heavy spenders.

Don't get cards if you don't have the spends. Especially paid ones. You'd end up with a fancy card portfolio but net loss because of the annual fees.

Getting the atlas would surely improve your base return to 4% but it won't make sense if you're only going to be able to spend 3L on it.

The sweet spot is 7.5L to extract good value from the card.

You'd just be paying annual fees without extracting good value from the card.

The card that I'd recommend ( once they start accepting new applications) is the amex plat travel for no nonsense milestone card. Put all spends till 4L on there.

Convert to Marriott for hotel redemptions. You can extract good value of 8.5% from the card.
