Credit cards which reverse Surcharge and GST on Fuel ⛽

Most credit cards nowadays waive 1% fuel surcharge but not the GST (on that surcharge). But recently I came to know there is one credit card in my wallet which reverses the surcharge as well as GST. So, I thought there might be other cards out there which offer the same benefit. This will be beneficial for those who don't have fuel cashback credit cards (OR are not interested to get one). Spending on fuel using these cards you won't have to pay any extra charges whatsoever! Plus the added benefit of spending through a credit card and if you pay your bill using HDFC bill pay, it would be the cherry on top! 😉

Note: Please share cards which reverse for all fuel pumps (regardless of fuel company OR POS device used). And this thread isn't for fuel cashback credit cards in particular as those won't work on every pump.

Tried apay card :
for 400/- it debited 411.8 and reversed 11.8 but
for 3050/- it debited 3086 and reversed only 3081.5. Any clarification?
Also does the POS machine bank matters for fuel surcharge in any way?

HDFC Moneyback INDUSIND Legend Depends on the POS but they do refund all

Moneyback only refunds surcharge 100% confirmed.

Just come to know that GST is not being refunded by my Amazon ICICI card.
I called the call centre and they said that it is being done since long back.

Their promotion page on ICICI bank for Amazon ICICI card has mentioned refund of surcharge and no mentioned of GST refund on the same.

Better use debit card...

doesn anyone know of which app allows user to use pay and then charge it to credit card. without additional cost...

HDFC VISA Indian Oil never charges GST, just 1% and reverses that 1%.

What I've noticed is Amazon icici gives full refund both gst and surcharge on small transactions like 500 or so but on big transactions like 3500 it doesn't reverse gst

HDFC Business MoneyBack Fuel Surcharge Waiver:
If any person knows how much fuel surcharge is applicable on HDFC Business MoneyBack CC then please let me know.
The actual transaction of ₹ 2967.2 at the fuel station is reflecting ₹ 3070.46 in the card statement.
I think I am being charged extra surcharge
Note: The surcharge should be between 2-2.5% as per the HDFC website. I got ₹30.40 fuel surcharge waiver which is 1% as per the policy.

3050, 3086, -31.5 is what you meant perhaps, for second transaction.
It's old but I guess, you filled petrol at two different pumps, or on different machines.

Apart from the petrol pump company, the POS machine also plays a role in determining how much you get refund.

If POS machine is of same bank as your card, surcharge+GST is reversed. However if POS + your card are from different banks, then GST isn't waived off.
Also, I guess lots of people don't notice this as they get FULL TANK, which may come up as random amount like 1579.34, which people won't remember. IN statement they will see something like 1622.54 & a credit of 35.21. They will think that they got full refund on surcharge.
This can only get uncovered if you fill fuel for easy numbers like 1500, 2000, 2500 etc, only then the diff in surcharge + GST, & refund comes to surface.

yeah my bad it was 31.5 surcharge waiver and now i know the answer to that question

I guess HDFC Millenia also reverses surcharge along with GST.
i tried last year, i didn't paid any additional charge by using my hdfc card.

HDFC doesn't reverse full surcharge for all pumps, they reverse full at only one of iocl/bpcl/hpcl, for the rest they reverse half the surcharge
